I'm enjoying MTSU beating Miami almost as much as our win over FL. Maybe it's my perverse nature, but I really want to see some other old football powers (even if some are relatively new) out wandering in the wilderness like we were for all those years. I can't think of better candidates than ND, TX, TAMU, MI, OSU, USC - the whole PAC whatever in fact, and the Always Coasting Conference in general. I'm probably with Hog on any TX team in general catching a beatdown - unless they play some team more deserving of a loss.
It really annoys me to see things like "Football's 9 Winningest Teams" knowing we are right behind those teams - and would be further ahead of GA and USC without what happened over the past decade of decadence. As it stands (at least before the beginning of this season), if you delete Yale, Harvard, and Penn, the only current teams with more wins than TN are MI, OSU, Bama, TX, OK, ND, PA St, and NB. We were tied with USC and three games ahead of GA at the season start. I'd still have Mike Hamilton drawn and quartered at the 50 yard line for starting all the ensuing stupidity - and I'd throw in John Adams (sports writer and general chit stirrer) for aiding and abetting.
