Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

I got in the car at 2:30 this afternoon (Chattanooga), and drove to this house house in middle TN - just over 90 miles, and got here about 3:10. I really hate fast time; only bad thing is the game starts at 11:00 instead of noon, but no big deal when time is in the right place. The other thing; I leave the A/C set to 75 when I leave here until it gets cold. Walked in and it was 64 in the house. I could really use the thermostat I have in the other house here since it switches automatically from heat to cool if you program it that way, but Honeywell discontinued it - having a heat pump cuts down on thermostat options, and I'm not interested in one connected to the internet. Oh, the leaves are starting to change nicely up on the plateau along Hwy 111.

How many times zones you lived in life? I wonder if you live in 12 zones away .maybe Okinawa..it feels the same as EST..I have weird thoughts.

When I read that your house was 64 when you got there, my mind instantly went to, well his wife had a hot flash and turned the thermostat all the way down.

Not sure, but I've spent time in a lot of them. The thing is that after a few weeks you just acclimate and it's like never leaving home. I really liked the Tahiti trip though. It was like six time zones and I really fit in; of course, with more time there, I'd slide back to my night owl / late morning status. One thing about travel for me is that travel west is tremendously easier than travel east. I used to go to Japan and work in right away, but coming home was a killer for a couple of weeks.

She didn't have anything to do with it in this case, but you aren't far wrong. I wear flannel shirts year round if she's in the house - or if it's winter and I'm not interested in a big heating bill.

My best friend gave me this Grayton Divers watch yesterday, while we were discussing our Vols. He has been home with me to Knoxvegas, and been to a couple football games with me in the 90s and 00s .

He said the dial was "rose gold" or "golden rose" or something...but it REAĹLY looks like the real, old school PM151 authentic Tennessee Vols Orange to me!! He has several watches apparently worth more than this one....but none are as beautiful to this VFL. Not even close. Go VOLS

Sounds like fun. Bring home some good anecdotes..That Chicago trip with that dog on sidewalk cracked me up years ago.Cant believe I remember that..it was just so good.
