Based on current track SE Fla ought to be ok. And moving her at 89 with dementia presents it's own risks.
I was my grandmother's caregiver for the last 5 years of her life post stroke and amidst late stage dementia. It's an awe inspiring affliction in the worst possible way. Kudos to you for being there for her.
Worried about yall down in Fla, and anyone in the path of that storm. Thats insanely big and strong winds too. There will be devastation like the NC mountains if it makes landfall with 180-200+ mph winds. When Hugo hit charlotte with 120mph winds it wrecked everything. I know Fla is much more prepared etc but this isnt a normal storm. God bless you guys. I will pray for you.
Man, I'm sorry your are going through that. Having a mother that succumbed to Alzheimer's I can't imagine having to take care of her with a natural disaster looming.
Lakewood Ranch. It's kind of between Sarasota and Bradenton.
This will likely surprise you guys...not just our VOLS but look at the projected records of the playoff teams and our SEC rivals...this is post Arkansas btw.
Also...as always screw Notre Dame. They are gonna make the playoffs nearly every season and never, ever play anybody. Cant lose more than 2 games if you never play anyone though. So overrated. Always. Hope they get "Washingtoned" in the playoffs 65-3 or so...

Forecast is for it to weaken prior to landfall and it's really the storm surge along the west coast that is the biggest threat. Where I am, we'll call it east central Florida (30 miles as the crow flies to the Atlanta side) it's wind and rain that are the problem.
We're 11 miles inland and not in a flood zone. Should be a wind event. Definitely taking it seriously.Jesus dude, I'm in fort myers and worried about surge. You'd in ground zero for the surge and eyewall. GL my man.
I've all but given up hope about making it to knoxville for the UF game. RIP to my $500 ticket + airfare. This is the second time Milton is going to screw me over UF weekend.
Did local Indian mounds save Tampa Bay from Irma's worst? Some say yesAt this point it appears the Sarasota impact is built in. It's going to get bad storm surge either way, so a direct hit would be a better case scenario as some of the worst surge would stay a bit south and Tampa/St. Pete would be spared the worst surge. It's possible it could still go south of Sarasota, but not as likely.
