Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Just want to say that I am really disappointed in all the VOL negas in the "pick the score" thread in the FF picking us to lose to UGA. I know they have the longest home win streak dating bout 4 years. So what?

A COWARD dies 1000 deaths. A BRAVE MAN dies but once.

Our team aint scared. WTH are our fans? I promise you our defense aint scared of these chumps.

What they did in past doesnt matter..this team is not as good. They dont hav3 those difference makers..That white receiver, Conkey?, better not rip us a new one.
Heupel has really laid some eggs on road, so hopefully we can break that trend.

Dangit. Arkansas WR fumbles the ball away in the redzone. Texas is not as good as their record implies. aTm might beat them. Of course, we got Arkansas best game all season...and their QB who was threading needles 30yds downfield while running for his freaking life all night sucks azz against everyone else and has 130 passing yards vs Texas.

For once in as long as I can remember, we've had a reasonably easy schedule - to date. It's hard to say that a team who plays GA and Bama yearly has an easy schedule by any stretch of the imagination though. The thing is that if you look at the to date strength of schedule, the easy schedules include most of the top football teams. TU at 56, IN at 100, and almost all the rest 50 or above (we're 39). The statistics that put OH St, PN St, and Miami in the 25- 40 range look flawed, but most of the rest of the highly ranked teams simply played pansy schedules to date and got rewarded for it.

I am getting really good at blowing away the configuration of all my new boat electronics when I am poking around with display setups. One day when my back PT ends (it’s end of November) I am looking forward to actually using all of this overkill crap to find fish and if I am lucky catch a few. 🤬

When I get my truck back next week and pull the boat out to install the new engine trim sensor and then set up the trim display I am guessing I will blow it all away once again… dang it 😕

Sounds a lot like the locals need to have an ambulance standing by because ND40s ready to crank up the death machines.

Kelly is such a joke at LSU.

He just called a freaking jet sweep to the WR on 4th and 1.

Lost 3 or 4 yards.

LSU has one of the best Olines in the country. Both OTackles will be drafted early in the first couple rounds. Running a horizontal, slow developing play on 4th and 1 instead of just running the ball up the middle was some Pruitt level stupid. Good grief.

Air Force to retire A-10 attack jets from South Korea, modernize F-16s Air Force to retire A-10 attack jets from South Korea, modernize F-16s

Here we go again...

Surprised that F16s make up about 50% of the USAF fighters still. Without a doubt 1 of the best airframes ever made...but thats a 50+ year old design. Always thought of them as like Wile E. Coyote riding on a rocket. Basically an afterburning fan with little wings welded on lmao. Still 1 of the most maneuverable planes ever built, and surprisingly capable bomber for its size too.

As much as I hate to think of A-10s going away, I am beginning to accept that it looks like we will move to battlefields where they likely are not survivable. The sandbox wars were against foes with little airpower that could threaten an A-10.

Don't know if you saw it, but the AF has lost its collective mind and has jumped the participation trophy giveaway. They are handing out Silver Stars to F-15 crews that shot down drones. I'd be embarrassed to think fighter pilots and back seaters would accept those awards considering all the guys on the ground who have actually been shot at and endangered are never considered for an award that significant. In the past AF pilots have received the Air Medal for combat - when they flew against planes that could actually shoot back. Disgusting display by the new crowd at the top of the military; they may have actually killed off the A-10, but for the wrong reason.

Thankfully that WR is in the NFL now, and their dominant TE from last season too. They have 5* guys at WR but theyre very young. They have a freshman RB thats really good, looked good at OM last week...but their Oline isnt as good in years past.

Fwiw, I got VOLS 20-17 which should immediately make us no2 or no3 in the nation and headed for the SECG.

Our offense isnt as good as years past, but neither is theirs. Our defense is literally the best in the nation IMO. If this game was in Neyland, i think we win 20-10 maybe 24-10. Athens is gonna be rough. We have the better team, but we cannot have drive killing false starts and holding penalties.

The UGA defensive backs grab, tug, and hold WRs downfield on every snap against us. Always have. Kirby is a former all SEC defensive back himself and coaches those guys to hold and interfere. Especially at home. He knows the refs will not call PI on every snap. Their DBs arent as good this year as in years past though. Booger is correct...Nico is gonna get 3 or 4 snaps when we have a WR or TE running wide open. He HAS to hit them and make them pay. I hate that he wasnt full strength practicing this week...but we can win this game and claim the throne. Lets GO VOLS

I tend to agree. GA is beatable but not necessarily at home. TN looked like a completely different team two years ago at GA - not at all like a team that had just been put at the top of the CFP playoff list. Sometimes I wonder if the crowd noise that is considered part of football is actually a good thing - like wins against teams like Bama and GA are going to be every other year things dependent on where the game is played. I remember when officials called on teams to tell the home crowd to hold it down or collect a penalty. Crowd noise can be a "live by the sword - die by the sword" kind of thing, but the competition should really be about the teams playing on the field.

Penn St has only played OhSt and got shellacked.

I think the weaker schedules are the blowback from crowning a champion. In the past the rankings were just bragging rights, but when the "champion" became "legitimized", teams realized their record over other teams took a backseat to just getting to the playoffs. Getting to the playoffs basically means not losing and trying to keep the team healthy - meaning easy schedules are rewarded. In the past where a bowl game was the reward, teams worked hard to get there and win. Now the season is just the setup for the post season, and the post season is where the laurels are.

Basically if you look at auto racing, the nonsense that goes on there, compare it to current college football, you realize there's nothing that advertising and money cannot FU.

We had to travel thru Gainesville on some interstate when we went on vacation, on the way back north. I have no idea why, just the way the phone routed us...dont even remember exactly where we were headed.

I got off the exit and pulled over to take a dump. I didn't even need to go...I forced it with all my might. Damn near blew out an O-ring. Wasnt gonna miss a chance to sheit on the gators home though. Took a picture of the sign for Gainesville to commemorate the dump I took.

Go LSU.

Edit: looked it up. We were on 75N headed back towards ATL on the way home to Charlotte.

10/10. Would crap on them again.

This kid is going to break hearts one day. Not giving it away - you have to watch the video to see her prediction. Spoiler alert - hope she's right.

yeah..they put a kill marking on an F-22 for a balloon.Good to know our $200M fighter can shoot down a balloon

I love all kinds of music. I was a band kid, so I learned to appreciate music in general.

But y'all need to listen to some Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.

Both are good, but I am more of a Bill Withers man myself.

"Use me up" and "aint no sunshine" stay in my rotation among others. Ole Bill has a pretty amazing 5 best songs, especially for someone you never hear much about compared to his contemporaries.
