So the kid got paid basically. NIL cannot continue in its current state. I do understand it was way too long in coming with the money schools made off of these kids. But right now the pendulum has swung way too far the other way. But hey get paid while you can 🤷‍♂️
Going to have to identify them as employees and put them under contract

I think this is a big part of the cause for the insanity right now. Any level headed agent or financial advisor, anyone approaching the situation logically without emotion would have to look at the current state and say its untenable...so there is desperation to get as much money as they possibly can right now knowing that guidelines/rules/salary cap is coming. It HAS to. There isnt a professional sports league of any repute in this country that has the players becoming free agents twice a year...with zero oversight and completely able to hold their employers for ransom. Regardless if UT pays matthews or lets him walk..the inmates are 100% running the asylum and are gonna ruin college football. This isnt the NFL. If we wanted to watch a bunch of overpaid spoiled athletes that make more $$$ in a year than we do in a decade...with ZERO love or loyalty...we would watch the NFL. The sport we love is in real danger of becoming just a mercenary professional Busch league for the pros and many fans dont want any part of that.

Yep. Then they can deal with all that comes with it. Lets put performance clauses in there. Dont play? Dont get paid. Dont produce? Get paid less. These kids wanna get paid like grown men (at 10x, 20x, 50x what most grown men make) then let them deal with grown man problems, grown man stress, grown man responsibility...and the REAL free market capitalism that has consequences. No more dragging azz...no more not putting in the study and work that they should etc. To whom much is given, much is required. THAT is the real world. Buckle up.

Just got it. I have been looking for a bit. The single barrel (orange) was even harder to find. Just got it too.

Dont drink much, but when I do whiskey is what I drink. Cheap stuff, usually Crown Royal because its cheap and smooth. When I was a teenager i had a real drivers license from a guy 4 years older than me that looked so much alike that i never once was refused service/entry...it was even better than a fake ID. I drank Jack or Jim every day after work. Did a lot of dumb stuff too 😃. I effectively turned 21 when i was 17 years old. Moved out of my parents house, dropped out of HS after football season junior year and went to work. Got my GED from the community college before my buddies graduated lol. Somehow i lived through the next 5 years or so by the grace of God.

From all the posts in the RF, I can tell thats a fine collection you have. Couple thousand dollars in whiskey. I would like to try all of those, one at a time and in small doses 😄 Nice job bro. Cabinet is off to a good start too from what i can tell. Cheers.

I've been collecting bourbons for a bit now. They were piling up in boxes in the dining room. Wife said I needed to do something. So I built a cabinet. I'm still working on the doors. They'll have tinted glass inserts.

Gonna need your home address. I wanna mail you a letter.

Yeah. I need your address to do that. 😉

I was going through some of my late brother’s things at his house today and as sad and crippling for me as it was to do so I did find this gem that he had and had apparently kept for all these years. That’s a pic of my big brother, little sister and I on Easter Sunday in 1971, he was 9, sis was 3 and I was 6. We were all the rage that day ...

Those are fancy duds you got there for the 70s bud. Nice. I was born in 77 so a little younger than yall but close enough to relate. All the pics of me from when i was little other than Easter I am usually half dressed and/or dirty lol. We always got cleaned up for Easter though and went to my grandparents church off Chapman Highway. Good times.

Just a passing thought in the time when a few in the FF are losing their minds:

Just checked and of the 25 recruits in our 2025 class...16 of them a bluechips ranked in the composite Top300 players. By far the best class so far, classes have improved every year, and this class is loaded. We have 17 players in the portal right now, not counting Matthews and there are only 2 that I would like on our roster. 1 Dlineman backup and 1 backup DB. The rest of those players were likely a mutual or UT decision.

If you were closer, we'd have a bourbon tasting. You're always welcome.

sorry to hear about your brother - love pictures like this.

No, most of the bad stuff is further north but part of Lima we go to a lot is having a little extra high wave activity. Nothing too damaging.

Good to know, I can't find out what's causing the waves. Every article just references "an extreme weather event", weird.

The Peruvian government/news is saying "wind from the coast of California".

My wife says it's a HAARP weather manipulation event 😆
