There is no way in hell Gruden tied himself down to not coaching the next 4 or 5 years with that contract. NO WAY!

This is what I am saying, there has to be an out. If it were as "iron clad" as a couple on here seem to think where is the traction coming from? Do they think you found the smoking gun that all those reporting it have missed? I know nothing about his contract, but with all contracts everything is fluid. No way it costs as much as some here let on to get out of it. If he wants to coach, and he has said he does, then what you posted is very likely to be right.

What's the provision on not going back into coaching.

Still say there is no way there isn't an out for him if he wants to coach. He has too much passion for the game to back himself in a corner like that. I believe this whether he comes here or not.

If the ESPN contract was "ironclad" why would NFL teams waste their time in pursuit of Gruden's services? Secondly there is never an "ironclad" contract in the entertainment world.

Oops you are too quick for me Jay. Sorry to step on your e-toes.:eek:lol:

This is what I have said all along especially with all the things you hear from those that are close to the situation. I would love to see what % of the things my friends close to the situation tell me is true. If even 50% of it is the truth there's enough to write a book lol.

I'd buy it.

You aren't stepping on anything, my friend. I am pretty quick for a middle-aged, broken down, and diseased former athlete. The mind is still fairly sharp by comparison.

It won't come down to current contracts or even the cash because he will be getting paid millions no matter what he does. It will come down to does he want to coach at UT or not.

It also doesn't say anything. If ESPN won't release the details of the contract anyone can speculate any way they want. The only thing anyone can say for sure is that he signed a contract with a provision stating he would stay out of coaching.

I still believe there will be a large buyout invovled if he wants to leave. Especially since the extension just went into effect last month.

I need me some e-cred!

How does one go about it? Maybe jv,bv, or some one else can take me under their wing
