Off topic, but I wonder who will pay Chizik and staffs buyouts? I heard on the sports news (espn i think) it was around 9.5 million for their buyouts. Add a new coaching contract to that and it makes Dooley and staff's buyout look like chump change.

Probably two buyouts, see Troop Taylor and Luper.

Don't you think he would be smart enough to have an "out" for coaching in his contract?

Not to be argumentative, but it would seem the whole reason for getting that provision is to keep him from having an "out." Otherwise, he's free to leave at this convenience for personal or professional reasons and it was a waste of space in the extension.

He could have an exception for specific programs or teams....much like Urban Meyer reportedly had for tOSU and Notre Dame.

Charles William Ergen

I'd say 100% if not for our history. I feel confident in what I was told.

From a practical standpoint, why spend the kind of money they have to upgrade facilities only to cut the program short on the back end with a sub par coaching staff when you had the ability to prevent it?

I read a article once about people worth that kind of money ( think it was Fred smith)

That if they dropped a 100 dollar bill on the ground it would cost them more money to stop and pick it up then leave it lying on the ground It was a example to the amount of money they make every minute of the day
