Doubt it. If the wheels are moving it may be to a point where there would be no turning back no matter what. Even if Dooley and company rattle off 6 straight wins and go to a decent bowl, the sting of never beating (and likely never will beat) UF, UA, and UGA would be enough to can him anyway. I don't see how we could even be competitive with UA in the forseeable future.

Regardless, if Gruden really is lined up and waiting to go, you take him no matter what happens.

Agreed. You take Gruden if you can get him, regardless of what happens the rest of the year. If you can't get Gruden, maybe Dooley can resurrect things by finishing the season 8-4 and win a bowl game?

Oh really? A life long season ticket holder is the worst fan ever? Haha. The point is I've faced the reality that anything that gives Dooley some momentum, and a shot at returning next year isn't good for us in the long run. I'd much rather be good in the future than win one game right now.

It's ok. I want us to lose too bro. Best for the program. Ask Florida fans about Zook. Same situation.

I hope the Vols win this Saturday for three reasons:

1. I'm a Vol fan no matter what.

2. I get to rag on some Gamecock fans around the office that we won with one of the worst teams in the last decade (and that is saying something).

3. It won't matter anyway in regards to coaching changes.

To whoever is trolling on here for Hart. Take this to your boss. 1972 graduate with season tickets and contributions for 38 years. If you give up our chance to be relevant in football again because of some non contractual promise you made to you worthless fat azz bama buddy you can kiss me goodbye. And I'm sure that I will not be the only one going.

If 3 is true, which idk that it is, then of course I hope we win. If that's not true though, I hope we win, but a loss won't demoralize my weekend like it usually does, it'll just send me back to this thread :)

Not just a bunch of 12 year olds on here. Class of 88

Depends on what other names have legit mutual interest with the University. If all else fails, what's another year with losses to UF, UA, and UGA? Buyouts will be lower and another year of recruiting will be done anyway.

Would rather this be done right.

No contributions for two years? Not a V4L.

Honestly, what does a win this Saturday prove? We can beat a team that isn't near as good as previously thought and we won't be the worst team in the SEC east?

My personal opinon, it doesn't do anything to improve Dooley's image. He crapped out last year at Lexington, dug his grave with losses three straight years to UF and UGA, sealed his fate against MSU, and put an exclamation point on it with a third straight beatdown at the hands of Bama.

And, again, Zook closed out his 3rd year winning @#10 FSU.

Too little too late. If Gruden is out there, UT has to move before other schools or NFL teams do. Sooner the better.

If Gruden wanted to coach in the NFL he would be doing so right now...He gets offers every year and turns everyone of them down.

Well thanks there volfan4evr. Some of us may have small post counts but we post when we have meaningful info. I've been around a long time, and you would be surprised who some of the posters with small post counts really are.

Some mighht even have some pretty damn good connections, or some may be the connection.....

He meant very small post numbers like under 50.
