He makes a living out of this stuff, he doesn't have to be groundbreaking. He just has to be correct. Too much false info makes your money flow dwindle, he plays it safe cause he isn't taking a chance on his honey pot.

These guys around here though never go on a hunch or instinct. Every now and then loosen up and take a chance

"Gruden is #1, #2, #3 and #4 on UT's list of coaches. They are even involving Peyton Manning in this. They are courting him on many fronts." "I am hearing they may let Dooley dangle in the wind and try to have a coach in place because they want the deal done first." UT has no one else on their WISH LIST at this time" Tony B.

I have been thinking they needed to involve PM in this.

If the decision hasn't been made, then Hart would be compeled to make some type of public announcement in support of Dooley.

When all the local news reports, and radio talk shows are hinting every day that Dooley could be fired, the Admin would want to stop the rumors (for many reasons) if untrue. The fact he has said nothing, screams that he is done. :hi:

No.

That would sound ridiculous for Hart to come out in support of Dooley, when he knows he'll be fired if he doesn't win Saturday. That would be absolutely stupid.

I think a small amount of confirmation has leaked out. I don't think the specifics (some of which has been posted, much of it has not) have come from there.

The "gist" of things has been floating around both unintentionally and intentionally but the details have been kept sealed and rightfully so.

He makes a lot of money doing what he does, he has a lot of followers. Personally, I wouldn't do a thing to jeopardize that. The fame doesn't out weigh his fortune right now. So I can see why he does it.

I don't need your headshots Jay, I don't run a modeling agency.

Yeah, I guess you are right. I fall asleep when I hear him but I doubt he cares!

What is interesting about all of this is how effortlessly we are all willing to spend other peoples money. I mean, if we fire Dooley and hire Gruden, the tab will be an incredible amount of money no matter how you slice it.

And there really is no ROI for Haslam, or Thornton, etc, other than having UT win some football games. It's pretty crazy if you think about it.

On the other hand, if I was a billionaire, I think I could honestly say that I would do the same thing in a second. Everybody in my family graduated from UT and we donate modestly to academic programs and also have season tickets, but we don't even really think about it. I wonder if that is the way the mega-boosters think?

I mean they will each probably have 10 mil invested in this hire by the time it is all said and done. That is a ton of cash and these guys didn't get rich by being loose with the dough.

It's just crazy, and awesome, how far some people will go for UT.

Is this a true statement or do you just not like the info he's spewing out?

It's absolutely accurate. Any of the big media guys in town are spoon fed their info by the AD.

If they step out of line they risk losing their press pass. The UTAD press pool is run much like their counterparts that cover the White House.

Exactly! The head in sand fans are the most dangerous. If you blindly go to that stadium and spend your money without question then you are part of the problem.

You're saying people that support the team during turmoil like this are part of the problem? SMH

I will go to every home game, always. If you think that's a problem, gtfo.

Hubbs said earlier, the AD is very unhappy with the performance of our football team and could see them making a change. If they do, they would "Make Gruden tell them no." But for now, Corch Derek Doolies is our coach.

Just paraphrasing.

Must have moved, then.

NO, you didn't read what I said. If you BLINDLY go over there and spend your money then YES you are part of the problem

I tend to think of it more as employment preservation than anything else. When our current coach requires past players such as EB to "notify them in advance" if they plan on making any kind of appearance, that speaks volumes.

I don't know any other way to take it. You have to spend money to go to the games. I will do it no matter the circumstances, because I love the Vols. I'll support the players, and the program.

YOU are part of the problem. YOU are part of the reason we can't afford to fire Dooley.

An excited UT fanbase=millions of dollars for Knoxville businesses on gameday weekends. Businesses which the Haslams and Thorntons have money invested in (aside from just gas stations).
