The AD is in a very precarious position at this point given the leaks and excitement over Gruden. If he doesn't get this done, he is going to have a huge letdown among the Vol masses and have a difficult time selling any other coach who might be hired.
He has no choice but to make this happen at this point.

I agree. What makes it worse, is that multiple sources have claimed that Gruden is interested. If it doesn't get done, the blame will fall on Hart.

I like Hart's moxy. The guy has gone all-in and hasn't been in the job very long.
As for Gruden not saying "yes or no" att his point, it may well be that he will not formally say "yes" until Dooley is officially fired for political reasons. Either he truly hasn't decided, or only a very select few individuals know the answer and are sworn to secrecy until the Dooley issue is resolved.
