I just want to say thanks to everyone who has and is sharing their information concerning the Gruden deal however we all have to realize that things can and do change. That doesn't mean someone is lying about what they are hearing or that their sources are wrong but nothing is official until the ink is dry and we hear an announcement from UT. If it is not Gruden then I would like to believe that we will be happy with whoever it is as long as they are good for the U and the team. Go Vols!

I second. Thanks all

As much as I think Dooley can get the job done if given another year, if he's gonna be fired, do it asap. You don't want to keep recruits hanging and a new coach coming in 2 weeks before signing day.

If anything is done it will be done sometime around November. The only reason we had that situation last time was because Kiffen skipped out on us at the last moment, it was not the powers that be decision.

If things aren't handled much better this time, then I am going to have to check myself into an asylum

I don't think they are all gone. I think Patterson is the only sure guy to go. Hunter hasn't shown he's 100% yet. Bray still needs a little work to be a 1st rounder. I admit that the team hasn't improved nowhere near as fast as we all would have liked under Dooley. I think Dooley can get the job done. It's gonna take another year, maybe 2 though. I understand that coaches don't get 4-5 years to turn a program around. If we had a halfway decent D we would ahve won all 3 of the games we lost. The O has not been the problem(except for maybe the 2nd half of the FL game).

So turning the ball over 3 times after multiple 3 and outs late in the UGA game isnt a problem?

Each side of the ball has had its fair share of miscues. Each could have been avoided with good coaching.

You got it backwards.

Hunter is the only guy that is over a 90% likelyhood to be gone. Bray needs another full season to prove himself, and Patterson needs a season to become polished. I would be surprised if we don't have both next year

The offense has yet pull through win it matters. Yes, they're scoring points and yes the defense is as loose as a $3 hooker but the point still remains. Also, it's no secret that Bray doesn't like Dooley and wants to go. Patterson's stock is high right now and even though Hunter hasn't produced to the level he's capable of he's still draft material. The only way I see them sticking around is if a change is made.

Out of curiosity, what is it about Dooley that makes you believe he can get it done?

Hunter has a child and is projected as the number one WR in the draft class, not sure what reason he has to stay.

Nothing has convinced me that we have enough money to work with. We haven't shown any willingness to throw around big dollars for a name coach ever. It's honestly depressing.

I don't think Dooley is going anywhere if he finishes up 7-5 for this reason. There just isn't the money to throw out there for anyone else.

Maybe you are right but I had fun! :)

Yep, you sure did.

How so? Besides the obvious deep pockets and ear marked funds (which is enough btw) the revenue from ticket sales to merchandise generated from Gruden being hired would change the financials considerably.
