Jay beside the Haslam's and Thunder who are some other "big" donors who keep their hands in the proverbial pot? I have a close relative who is a relatively big alumni donor who does not get involved in the workings of the UT machine and wouldn't. Thought I would throw out a question while we wait.
Thank you sir. I understand. I really hope it is just a smokescreen. I like Dooley personally. He has represented us with class, and made alot of positive changes. We are a much better program now, than when he arrived. However, I feel he needs more time, and at UT, we want to win now. So I think he may end up in the category of "stepping stone coach" which would be a coach who calms a program down that is in shambles, rebuilds the foundation, and makes the situation better, so that a coach like Gruden, Saban, or an established coach can come here with not so much work to do as three years prior. I believe EVENTUALLY that Dooley could be a Nick Saban. And I only hope that when he finds that winning formula, if we are in need, he will come back. But for now, he needs to find a place like Texas Tech, Arizona State (not saying the need new coaches, just picking schools that aren't 100% football crazy and are patient) where they will allow him time to build a program, and win. Saban was in the same boat at MSU when he started figuring out his formula to win. Dooley just needs a little more time, but unfortunately he most likely won't get it here.:loco:
I haven't been able to post as often as I would like this week due to working a lot of hours, but I have been following religiously. I sincerely hope that this mornings rumor is just a smokescreen but after reading it, I feel a little deflated. Still hopeful but this is driving me crazy! Lol

The rollercoaster keeps on rolling.
My opinion of today's happenings would be that a smokescreen is being disseminated. Leaks at the base level happen on sites like this, so once ripples started appearing, the proverbial fox had to cross the creek a few times.
Basically what I am saying is that the news today doesn't really push the process one way or the other. It's a drawn out process, don't read into it too much or you'll go gray early.
