Funny how as soon as people are not posting every 5 minutes the world is over. No one I have talked to today feel any differently than before.
The facts seem to be fairly straightforward and widely reported that contact has been made, and many have reported both publicly and privately that money is not a concern apparently. It has also been widely reported that there is mutual interest. Different people will say different things but one thing that is a fact is no one truly knows the results until there is an announcement.
No one I have talked to today at work seem to think anything has changed as far as our "chances" of getting Gruden but anyone looking for a definitive timeline or confirmation that it is 100% done are inviting themselves to get trolled because nothing is definitive right now. Not even Dooleys tenure sad to say given it is still mathematically possible to attain 8 reg season wins regardless of the "odds" or "likelihood" it could happen.
I just hope those in the negotiations-talks whatever stage it is in are more patient than some of us on here lol.
Well-done,sir.:salute:
Nothing has convinced me that we have enough money to work with. We haven't shown any willingness to throw around big dollars for a name coach ever. It's honestly depressing.
One thing that hasn't been discussed is the family dynamic with Gruden. Would he really want to move closer to his in-laws? How would his wife feel about leaving sunny FL to be close to family? How would a move like this impact his kids? I think these questions will be bigger than the money for Gruden.
So turning the ball over 3 times after multiple 3 and outs late in the UGA game isnt a problem?
Each side of the ball has had its fair share of miscues. Each could have been avoided with good coaching.

I'm hearing the hold up is that Gruden, being a broadcaster, wants to be BOTH the head coach and Voice of the Vols. He'd sit in the press box and announce the game as he's coaching. Solves two problems for the Vols . . . . . .gets rid of Dooley AND Kesling.
Thank you for your factual and logical response. I feel better now. And watching South Park always cheers me up.What are you talking about?
Fulmer's last staff was making 4.7 million in their final season. They followed that up by hiring a young NFL coach that recently lost his job. They paid his defensive coordinator 1.2 million which came to a total of 5.3 million for the entire staff. If you're talking about the Dooley hire, you're seriously confused. Lane Kiffin was coming off his only college season as a head a coach(7-6) and even USC had to give him 4 million dollars to get a coach through their doors. That's what happens when you're left scrambling with no time to find a coach. If you honestly believe we hired Dooley because the school was being cheap and not because they were left scrambling to find a coach at the last second, I don't know what to tell you.
I'm sorry you're so depressed about Tennessee hiring Dooley because that was the only option at the time. It has nothing to do with not being willing to spend money though. Maybe watching South Park will cheer you up.
