Official Jon Gruden Thread II (merged)

It pisses me off because I'm constantly drawn to this thread hoping beyond hope that there's something to all this. Reason and history tell me I'm crazy for even checking this thread, but you guys that live here are beyond that kind of crazy. Your savior is not coming here. Listen to Terry Fair. He knows what he is talking about.

Ainge sez different... :whistling:

Let me preface this post by saying I am no insider. I know no big money boosters. This is completely my opinion.
If and I mean if the hold up on this deal is the fact that Dooley has not been fired. Let him go now!
If we have any legit shot at Gruden, the time to act is now. We don't need to possibly get into a bidding war with the likes of Texas. There is no need to keep Dooley around. Any sane person knows that winning this week or next just ain't happening. The embarrassment has gone on long enough and it's time to cut our losses now.

Your right!!!

I checked the IP addresses. And guess what. OV, OS, Boro, BC, Jay, DTO, and carter all have the same location!!!

Just kidding...go **** yourself. And I mean that in the nicest way.

I have way too much to do with work to be wasting my time or yours. When I hear something I post it, not for e-cred but to share info and try and figure out what is going on. Thats what a forum is, an anonymous sharing of ideas. I could never do it on facebook, people do not trust you if you name names. Its the anonymity here that allows free exchange of ideas and information.

I have never understood people that go out of their way to call others out over things they obviously know nothing about. And let me be clear, if your position is that "John Gruden has not been contacted and would never come here" it is obvious how clueless some people are. I have no direct information about the offer or conversation but would state my life it has and is happening.

And the Randy Shannon thing, lol if they knew how close it was to happening and what kind of falling out it caused between Dooley and Hart, and how close it was to happening regardless. Lets just say someone I know already had his vehicle set aside by request of the Director of Transportation for him, what HE asked for. It was literally an 11th hour snag that cost us a great DC, and Dooley had his hands all over it. It cracks me up to hear people say "Well Shannon was a done deal too" when it was so close to being done they already had his vehicle lined up.

You guys are completely delusional. Will you give it up already? Gruden is not going to be coming here and all these "insiders" are FOS.

Believe what you want. As I have said before, this is coming from a multitude of people, and not just from here. Ainge has even strongly hinted at Gruden. Am I saying it's 100% done? Absolutely not, but the ones providing info are not "FOS" as you say.

Dooley ruined the deal?

He apparently had a lot to do with it was what I heard from several people. I always said he felt threatened but thats my opinion. Not sure why he disliked the idea of him so much assuming I have heard the truth. Truth and opinion can be hard to discern at times with things like that. The reason notwithstanding, he was definitely 99% of the way to becoming a Vol. People that use that as a way to dismiss the Gruden happenings amuse me.

Exactly how would this work? Fire Dooley name an interim HC until deal is done? If he won't listen til Dooley is let go, aren't they rolling the dice that he will accept?

Prove your point that any of the insiders are "FOS". Don't say fair said because I can counter that with Ainge said. You seem pretty sure of your opinion of my fellow Grudenites, so convince me.

One can have an agreement in principal without inking the deal yet. Sure its a risk, but with the general opinion of people I know being short of winning the next 2, Dooley is gone 100%. Its a gamble I would be willing to take I think.

I do not think it is an "I will not listen as long as DOoley is the coach" as much as an "I will not agree to a job someone else is under contract for". At least thats what it sounds like to me, not so much info as an educated guess.

But yes, most likely it will be an interim while Gruden works on next year assuming they put it together.

It's tough to separate truth from BS on the Internet, but the persistent stories about Dooley being a control freak; not an "X & O" guy; not a players' coach; etc. really bother me. If true, it explains a lot, including Dooleys' apparent inability to dial in a coaching staff.

Obstacle pinpointed.
Remove obstacle.

The people you think are "connected" are not as connected as you think. This is not going to happen. I'm ignoring this thread now.

Well Bye

From a recruiting standpoint what would have to be done to keep the class from falling apart?
