Listening to you guys is one thing, when Ainge is hinting that what it takes to hire the home run is "chump change" compared to what some of our boosters throw around, is another level of assurance.
I said last week info was circulating that local media would start hinting to. Some of what we were hearing over the last two weeks they were hearing too, but were unwilling to put their credibility on the line to report it.
When you begin to hear this much, something is going on.
I might be reading into it just a little too much, but to me, he is saying everything but the name. He is basically saying, he knows what's going on and knows that money is not an issue at all, anyone that says that doesn't know the real process, and that keeping DD will cost the Univ ALOT of money, to the point where we won't be able to dig ourselves out, and that we can go out and get a name that will have a standing room only at the OW game.
He's making case to the public on the behalf of the decision makers. When Dooley's dismissal is made public, a lot of the Doorights are going to be upset, especially when it looks like we begin a coaching search at that time.
Having people like Ainge lay the case out ahead of time helps make the change less painful.

Good point. It doesn't sound like there's too many Doorights left outside of Volnation. Just listen to the radio and talk to people around Knoxville.
