Morning OV,Gman, and all other Gruden faithful...
good to hear OV...
oh and thanks a lot GMAN,I've been intrigued by your
avi and doing a little research and now trying to find
me some Pappy for Gruden celebration day...and XMAS...and New Years...and my birthday...:hi: :good!:
Here is my opinion.....
You have a school (UT) that is trying to keep their coaching search and potential candidates under some serious wraps. If you were another SEC school, would you not want to blow up the other school's negotiations as quick as possible. I think people are forgetting just how high the stakes are in the SEC. This is not the ACC or the PAC where coaches socialize and get along. This is cutthroat football, cutthroat recruiting and serious big-boy football.
If anyone thinks that another SEC school wouldn't jump at the opportunity to sabotage our coaching search, they haven't been watching the SEC in the last 10 year. Huge amounts of money are on the line here and the lines of competitiveness will be shifted with all of these hires.
Sure Arkansas could offer regardless but schools generally go to great lengths to only make formal offers to candidates they have a chance to get. Their officials may be swaying from that path but as I said IMO gruden is listening if they formally offered yesterday.
If the agent was being a professional He would say that gruden isn't interested in entertaining a formal offer. That's how the profession works
Gruden would take Kiffin's spot as the most hated man by Vols fans, if he snubbed us for Arky. there is no way i can fathom him doing that.

We are being effed with by the Hogs true believers. Our faith is being tested but we are a resolute bunch. The proof is that this thread will reach 300 pages by noon.
Are you an agent? Last time I checked it was their job to get the highest amount possible for their client AND themselves in the process.
I would be very naive to think that an agent wouldn't try an deal til the very last minute.
Come on Bruin - you're smarter than this.
