That wouldn't stop them frommaking an offer - if they in fact did so.

I am not trying to be all conspiracy theory here but think about it. If Gruden really wants this to be on his terms then no one besides those that he wants to know are aware of an MOU.

now some on here have claimed that to have happened but its not been reported anywhere.

Put yourself in Grude's shoes - would you tell a single soul that you signed an MOU?

I don't have to get approval to make him an offer. If things worked like that, nothing would ever get done.

Oh, and they could offer him 10mil a year and he still would not be the coach of Arkansas. Period.

The offer tells me he isn't a done deal here. It has nothing to do with his willingness to accept

Why is this such an issue with you Bruin? For someone who claims to be so connected to the sport, you seem very disconnected to the process.

Anyone, can, may, and will make an offer at anytime. A contact requires three things, a formal offer, a formal acceptance, and some form of payment to be a complete contract.

I have seen, as you should have to, someone recieve an offer after being contacted ... it is NO BIG ISSUE

No, I think that they DID talk to his agent at some point.

Here is question for you. They have had a lame duck coach for almost 8 months now. Jon Gruden is not currently coaching.

So why do you think they wait until now to make an offer, and why make it public?

Why not offer him a month ago when the rumors about UT first started?

So Gruden is willing to come down on his offer and all of sudden AR has a huge offer for him... Agent just trying to drive price up, nothing to see, just a little tactic to see if he can get what he wants

Keep in mind, the "offer" has been reported off of what some arky reporter had posted. To my knowledge, there hasnt been an official word from Arky...........unless I am mistaken. The same arky reported that claimed and swore up and down that DGB was going to arky right up til he signed with Mizzou

Not THIS JC guy...full on Grudenite pre Kiffy! It just got real for me since JGII though...

Guys up here are clueless...its just that mentality that keeps everyone on edge in these threads...

When you already have lots of money, its suddenly not so important...TIFWIW regarding Gruden...and consider his extrinsic factors...of course we should be ideal for him.

It has nothing to do with us. There is NO relationship between the two.

If he has signed an MOU with us, there is absolutely a provision that prevents either side from disclosing it.

His agent could not possibly tell Arkansas that they have signed an MOU. It would be a breach of the MOU.

Sure Arkansas could offer regardless but schools generally go to great lengths to only make formal offers to candidates they have a chance to get. Their officials may be swaying from that path but as I said IMO gruden is listening if they formally offered yesterday.

Maybe a month ago he was not in play but now he is. I believe the posters in the know here that he is coming but I just find it interesting that they even offered at all.
