Official Jon Gruden Thread V

Obviously I would love to have Gruden as our coach and my hope is not gone on that happening.
What I absolutely need more than anything is to hear something from the AD assuring us all that Dooley is done after this season.

Whether we hear that now publicly or not, I think its a done deal dude! I don't care even if we win out, nothing done this season justifies another year for Dooley. Breath easy brutha!

I remember that is exactly what Doug Mathews did with the D in 88. He went to a basic 4-3 and just concentrated on getting the runner down and not so much on scheming.

One if the most basic fundamentals of football and they still can't seem to grasp it..Hell, I could tackle better than them and I've never played football in my life.

Go back to the bowl game against UNC when Janzen was a human dart and got flagged for it. Hell of a hit but If he would have just tackled the guy we woulda won that game. Even players now just throw themselves at people with the ball in their hands. Why they are so scared to just wrap up and tackle is beyond me.

Do you think by not wrapping up they are saying "no homo"?

RB A.J. Turman Says

As for Tennessee, which, like UGa, has no running back commitments for 2013, it may be the best chance for Turman to get on the field early, but the Vols do have some youth at the position in sophomores Rajion Neal and Marlin Lane, while the depth behind those two is also young.

The other issue at Tennessee is the job security of head coach Derek Dooley, who is likely out after the dismal season the Vols have been having, that is if UT is willing to pay Dooley what is owed him should the school decide to terminate his contract early.

"I could probably get on the field real fast at Tennessee. [Dooley's status] concerns me a little bit. I hate to see them lose their coach," Turman said, "but it doesn’t effect me that much because the running backs coach [Jay Graham] told me he would be staying ... He came and watched our game last Friday."

It seems to me that the AD has decided that he would rather endure the circus that we are now going through and avoid the possibility of facing the circus of a public coaching search.

I have come to believe that whoever is named the new coach will be in the bag before any public announcement is made about Dooley.

Seems the only logical reason for the silence from the AD office and also the hope I cling to concerning Gruden (silence from his camp).

Even Hart could not be so blind as to the empty seats in Neyland

That's just irritates me to no end b/c usually the WR,RB, or whoever just bounces off and keeps on truckin'..If I were the coach, they would be wrapping up or they would sit on the bench and I would find someone else that will wrap up.

Good post

Franklin gave the student section the finger and said "we will be back" or whatever it was. I laughed at him then and thought we are only getting better from here so what chance will you have next year?....please just don't lose to Vandy.

Big Jay Graham fan and hope he's back but its not up to him. New coach may bring in an entirely new staff.

You'll have to see this guy about that.

If he KNOWS Dooley is out... the only way he could say he knows he will be back next year is if he has spoken to the new coach... hmmmmm :)
Hart could also have said to him that he'd keep him. Could mean we're stuck with Buddy Hackett as well, albeit as a position coach and not a coordinator.

Next question please.

During his tenure, has Hart ever before been in a situation to feel the wrath of the $$$ men?

Could this current pressure have caught him off guard, since it appears the $$$ men have been fairly low key up until now?

It appears the info being discussed is coming from either the UTAD side or from those outside that office. UTAD has been pretty consistant with their stance and what Skeeter was just quoted on has been said since early this year.

I really don't think Hart expected Dooley to be sitting on a flaming stool at this point in the season. That said, we can only hope that this becomes a case of money talks and the bs coach walks.
