Bash me if you want, but in my opinion Jon Gruden will not be the coach here next year. I am like everybody else and Gruden would be our dream coach. Im no specific insider myself , but this administration may even screw up us getting somebody like Strong or Patterson. No decent coach with inspiration would come here with all of this administration crap. On friday I do believe that they will attempt to right the ship, but is it too late to get a decent coach remains the question.

In addition, there are still some of the boosters who think if we cant get Gruden or a Stoops (home-run) hire then they just want to stay with Dooley another year. The ones that I know hate Dools at this point. It is not completely out of the realm of possibility that Dooley is the coach next year, I dont see that but.......

We will see a clear view of the situation in the near future.

You have to believe that SBV saying gruden has cooled isn't accurate. You have to believe DD has know since the miss state game he has been fired and he has graciously stayed quite. To believe the info these insiders are giving you have to believe the BOT outcome is either irrelevant or already determined. That might be the case here but if it is why all of a sudden are people up in arms about the outcome?

Seems to me they have lost credibility due to their 100per done deal post and now claiming the meeting outcome matters

I see what you're saying. I just dont get the idea that some have that keeping DD this year is good option if you cant get homerun hire. How much better of an opportunity will it be next year? The roster will possibly be more depleted, but right now you have some talent coming back and other good talent that you could convince to come back. I just think they should make the move with DD, get ducks in a row, and give it all they have. I think they will do this, I just think sorting out the AD situation is complicated. I am not sold that DD is out yet, but he certainly should be.

Most of this is believable and I think should illustrate that at no point was/is a deal 'done' nor 'soon.' This sounds more like 'who knows?' Which is where I've been all along.

I'm out if Dooley is retained.

Deal was/is done once these issues are ironed out sounds like to me. Money is agreed upon, just like the thread said, Interest is there, just like the thread said. Gruden probably has not cooled, just told to sit tight and finish his MNF contract for the year while all the rest is handled when the times are right.
