As Lex said yesterday. This has the potential of being a watershed moment for UT sports. I believe it can be done.

Don't know why. They're not horrible coaches but not worth the big paydays either imo. Would these 4 coaches be considered up and comers if they were already coaching in the SEC? Not so sure. My point is, we are still paying Fulmer, we will still be paying Dooley and a new coach. We can't keep paying multiple buyouts and hiring no names that's just gonna turn into another buyout. This is more realistic, in my opinion. Personally, I really like both Strong and Golden. Both have been quite impressive considering the circumstances.

I'd take Golden in a heartbeat if Gruden is a no go.

I know he can recruit, the thing that worries me is that he is barely squeaking by Big East teams. I would not be angry by any means if we did hire Strong.

You have to look at their current situation with pay, support, and their willingness to leave their respective schools before. All would be tough pulls IMO

OCI still insist an agreement has been reached but now they've changed it to just a years and money agreement. He's started to throw in things that could mess it up, etc.

In other words, Gruden isn't coming. It seems this is no one's fault but Cheek's.

You are not going to pull Gary Patterson away from TCU. He is married to a TCU alum and well settled into Fort Worth. There is a ton of natural gas money in Fort Worth right now and I know people close to the TCU program. They will do what they have to do financially to keep him there.

If you watch that team live, which I have twice this year, you would recognize that he is a fantastic gameday coach. The drug "issues" have also been overplayed by the media. They are not any worse than any other college program IMO.
