Official Jon Gruden Thread VI

You have to look at their current situation with pay, support, and their willingness to leave their respective schools before. All would be tough pulls IMO

Like I said in another post, easier said than done but when you're a program that is used to being in the top ten and competing for SECC, you have to do whatever it takes to get back there. Larry is now saying it looks like the AD is ready to spend the money and they have the backing of the big boosters that are willing to pay what it takes to get it done. Just pull the damn trigger!

I love that one!

This is one of my favorites too ...

Seems to me as if the rumors about Gruden are picking up again.

I think negotiations are going on and people are trying to play it close to the chest however, so many details and people are involved in the process that information leaks out.

I think we land Gruden.

I Agree and I posted nearly the same post as you did in his thread. I guess you never know though he could be another chris peterson

Peterson has some family issues that keep him bound to Boise.

I can see peeling Strong off Louisville - I think the job and the SEC would be hard for him to resist.

Those that talk about who they have beaten need to takea deepr look at how bad that program was before he got there. he has certainly turned it around

I am not sold on Golden - he was great at temple but seems to be mediocre at UM - who knows.

Patterson and Gundy are long shots in my mind - they are comfortable and have the backing they need. As long as more players at TCU don't show up in drug raids.

I think there is a lot of intentional misdirection going on as well.

OCI still insist an agreement has been reached but now they've changed it to just a years and money agreement. He's started to throw in things that could mess it up, etc.

In other words, Gruden isn't coming. It seems this is no one's fault but Cheek's.

I have never said this.

Peterson, Patterson, and Strong (in that order) would all be good candidates if we can't get Gruden.

Vol Nation CDhristmas Wish List:

1. Gruden to Vols
2. Saban to Browns
3. Dooley to Browns or UTC AD
4. If #1 does not happen, then Cheek to Siberia
5. If #4, Hart to follow.

Post of the day.....so far :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol:

Well played my friend, well played indeed :hi:

That's the spirit!

For those asking, Boro said he has not wavered one bit. Sticking by what he's said since day one, aka Official Jon Gruden I

He also thinks that race was an issue in him not getting the Florida HC job, I think he would wanna stick it to the Gatas. An HC that hates FL would be awesome.

Can you explain what exactly you think is happening regarding this?

It would be risky to go there. I think the fact that Dooley is still on the sidelines and offering scholarships is in itself misdirection. You did not ask for my thoughts though.
