Like coaching staff but to good to be true. Sounds like a Fantsy coaching staff. Here is what my gut is telling me................Big time hire is Gruden. No announcement till after Kentucky means we have him.
Jay Graham stays on as RB coach
Tee Martin joins the staff from USC as WR coach
Pittman (which i hate) most likely gone..... and all other coaches gone.
Raheem Morris will be our DC.
Recruiting will explode in the near future and the Vols will return to prominence sooner than later.
Now that I am on the record, anyone else care to join in. I have no real sources, but my gut is right about 80% of the time.
It's time to make Tennessee ..............Tennessee again. GO VOLS! (oh, and flame away)
What are u talking about? I said I didn't know bcarter or whatever had any inside source on this Gruden stuff. Figured he was guessing like the majority of us.
If UT knows for a fact who the next coach is, there is no clear reason to keep Dooley on the sidelines. With or without Dooley UT is likely to lose at Vandy. No bowl game. They dont have to announce who the new coach is, they just have to know who he is.
Dooley remaining in my mind means that the coaching search has now begun in earnest, which (I believe) means Gruden is no lock at all and UT has no clue who they will convince to come here.
IF you take what Ainge is saying as true....that it isn't Gruden and we are futher along in negotiations than any of us know...then why has not one other coach rumor gotten any real heat behind it? Must be really stealth if we have been that good at covering it up here.
About to head into a meeting but as I said before, my guy would 100% be involved if a legal agreement such as a MOU or contract offer had been drafted. He saw a proposal on paper, commented on it being "unprecedented" and that is was with Grudens people. The week after the Bama game he was in my business for another meeting, not related to UT, and he stated the proposal had been denied. That's all I reported, and at the time I was very down. If you knew this guy you would put a lot of stake in what he says, well most of you do know him lol. Thing is he is involved on the end that would be involved after the talking and negotiating is either late in the game or over and now it is drafting agreements.
I went from very low to 50-50, and now Danomite is getting my positivity back over 50-50. He is the kind of guy that knows. Like I said my guy would know nothing until there is at least an outline, proposal, or agreement. He would not be involved in the negotiation.
Again my main zeal has been Dooley out, not his replacement.
