Doc, I have a question. What has changed since you posted this on 10/28? I may be behind so SIAP. Thanks!

"This has been the scheduled departure for at least the last week an a half. It's going to happen--Dooley has been done for weeks.

I still believe it will be made official Sunday and Gruden will make a public comment about accepting the position on MNF.

Official Gruden introduction on Tuesday or Wednesday. Hinshaw will be named interim for the rest of the season."

Kind of an odd analogy, but think of this...

How many times does a shuttle launch get rescheduled due to variables? The end result is the same no matter the timeline. This shuttle will launch.

Gruden would never accept a job that quickly while in the middle of the NFL season. There's absolutely no reason for him (if he were to come which I still highly doubt) to accept a job that quickly when he has a contract that extends beyond this year.

Timing definitely but the substance still is there. Dooley was informed weeks ago he would not return. Gruden agreement reached in principle. For whatever reason, either Hart or Gruden or something else, the announcement is being put off.

Before I would've said that the longer it goes, the more nervous we should be. But I feel completely opposite now. If Hart feels comfortable WAITING, while everyone knows Dooley won't be back next season, then he is confident that he will not have to get in the coach search race (like Aekansas, Kentucky, etc...). It's a good thing since he knows Gruden is locked up.

Gruden has stated he wants to finish out MNF. And I still believe he publicly makes it official on MNF--when they are ready to announce.

Timeframe of the happenings is different, but the result will still be the same.

Just got on here and read the cliff notes. I'm so excited in the direction that UT is going, and 100% believe that Gruden will be our head coach in 2013. It's an exciting time to be a Tennessee Fan!

How much is Nick Saban worth to the Bama Athletic Dept.? Far more than the "high" salary they pay him. If we want to be competitive in the SEC we have to enter the arms race.

exactly....the net worth is smashing!!

Guess who just turned his laptop upside down?
<----This guy.

I wanted to make sure we didn't go another Gruden thread without the upside down chick... lol

Lawyers have the hardest time not running their mouths. They like to make sure everybody knows they are important. It is actually a pretty big problem in the industry.

I resent that comment. And how do you know this? There is an ethical duty unless a client wants it out.

Honestly? It is what it is. Sure he has name recognition with recruits, but college isn't the NFL from the time you are allowed to spend with the kids and the limitations that are placed on the coach.

I'd be more worried if you hired Petrino. he's the one that would worry me the most.

The crazy thing is I have had some Vol fans say "If we get gruden, we'll own Florida." I tend to think that either way, Florida will be just fine. You might beat us, but to say you will own us is dishonest.

I think Gruden would be gone in less than 5 years anyways. The NFL is in his blood. he's an NFL coach.

At least we wouldn't be lambs led to slaughter as has been the case of late.
