Absolutely Doug Dickey and Bill Battle. I have met both and they signed some UT stuff for my man room. Both VFLs

Perhaps I'm wrong. Guess it goes back to what the definition of VFL is. I don't hate on the guys. Bill Battle has been immensely successful in business and Dickey was a very good AD for us, except he didn't care about basketball. I would take Dickey over what we have had in the AD recently, though.

No offense carter, because I have appreciated your info and stance from the get-go, but I have a question.

If I were a bazillionaire trying to keep things quiet, I dont think I would use a UT sponsored legal team to draft such an agreement. This may be why your people are out of sync.

I would go with someone I hold a little closer to heart given the amount of money I am ponying up. So the question is, Would it be possible to have a MOU in place, not sanctioned by UT, that would serve as a placeholder until an official UT represented form is completed when the appropriate time comes?

Im thinking business transaction vs. UTAD transaction at this point.

What do you say? Or am I full on 'tard?:)

I would never call you a tard lol. Based on my knowledge a MOU is between the university and a candidate for a job, not between a candidate and boosters. If a MOU were in place, it would go through the AD and they would use their people for it.

When, in the history of UT, in adjusted dollars, has any coach been offered anywhere near that to come here or stay here?

When has the crown jewel of Tennessee athletics been this dismal and in such a terrible place as well as LOSING millions of dollars per home game at an increasing rate with each passing game?

There really is no difference between $4.5M and $6.0M when it comes to giving it out for a coach. The only difference is that one number gets you your coach and the other doesn't.

There is no right or wrong answer. People who work as coaches or ADs view it differently than fans. They both spoke fondly of their time at Tennessee.

Not only that, but the money would have to come through the university, though it could be via booster donations.

It sounds crazy i know but i got a strong feeling we keep CDD.

They'd never be able to shove that down the fans' throats. There would be massive rioting that would pale the Night of Burning Mattresses. The handwriting is on the wall.

I'll go on the record as hoping your right, despite my scepticism.

This is spot on. To make money, UT must spend money.

And if I am a lawyer am I going to go spout off to my buddy that I know good and well will blab it on The biggest UT message board where he can be easily traced to me? Not if I like my job.

Not to mention that something like this is probably handled completely by the Senior partners of the firm No underlings would be privy. No offense Carter.

None taken, how could I be offended you do not know me or what I do for a living. Just bringing info I get, not concerned about what people think about it lol. No absolutely it is handled by Senior partners and Associates. Not an intern or 3rd or 4th year associate job.

Does this mean that hmanvolfan is gone?? :eek:hmy:

LOL! I cant disagree...just throwing out some brain vomit!

An MOU can exist between any interested party involved in negotiations correct?

Could I draft an MOU for myself and another party that would be converted to an official one pending third party approval?

Im just saying that may be why it doesnt appear to have happened...there can be a backdoor MOU that is replaced by the REAL MOU at some point. I may still be tarding...

Doc whats your opinion on the media saying Gruden not happening?

It's hard be the first one to break a story like this. It can literally make or break a career so I can see why no one is putting their necks out on this one. That's just my opinion.

BUT, I will say this, Ainge is not as connected to knowledge as he thinks when it comes to Gruden. And the only reason I say this is because I've heard it from others since he has gone on the record as saying "Gruden is 100% NOT coming."

The one and only... fellow countryman of Ribery.

Thought so. The guy was simply amazing. I miss seeing him play. Ribery is my second favorite player of Bayern's. I love the guy's fire, and for someone that is as gifted as he is, remarkably unselfish.
