Jake, you've had a long day. I thought I saw you on here early this am.

Tell me about it. I make a living off 3-5 hours of sleep per night.

I own a bar and I'm an outdoor adventure film producer...so I'm used to being up all the time. Long days in a production setting allow me to have this affair with my iPhone.

I have been reading this thread but remaining very skeptical.

Thought you all might like to know that today, I decided to go full Grutard.

Not because anything I read or heard has convinced me it's happening, but just because I want to.

Being grumpily realistic about our football team all the time is kind of boring. I've decided to just believe it will happen and take it in stride if it turns out to be false. But of course that won't happen, because Gruden is going to be our coach in 2013.

Go Vols! Beat Vandy! Hire Gruden!

Falling like flies around here

I listen to what he says for the same reason I listen to Mel Kiper. Mel Kiper doesn't have facts on who is going where but it's his job to figure out who is most likely to go where. It's La Canfora's job to figure out what coach is going where. I never said it was definitely happening but it's not like he just made it up and made a random guess publicly. Given his job and talking to other people, I'm sure he made his comment based on talking to other people about Gruden. It wouldn't make sense for him to make it up for no reason. If I was a sports writer and believed Chris Petersen would probably prefer moving up to a bigger school like Tennessee, I wouldn't make that comment public without actually hearing something. Otherwise you're just making random stuff up. What's the point of paying a sports writer to make stuff up and throw out random ideas? That's what free forums are for.

Look, there are tons of people who talk to people in the media. That doesn't mean they have the inside scoop on where people are going. In fact, seasoned professionals like Gruden and Manning are very good at hiding where they are going. If you don't recall, there were a few NFL insiders got the whole Manning thing wrong too. Just because it's La Canfora's job to find out certain things, doesn't mean he knows what's going on. He was asked to speculate what he thinks Gruden would do. That's it. End of story. Nothing to see here. Move along now

I understand. I have been skeptical and question a great deal of things in this thread but I am still here. I am here because I know this is possible and there are things daily that make me think that possibility is greater and greater. I still don't think it's happening but I am getting closer to 50/50

Push em in, ignore the haters

No what is not rocket science is your constant badgering of anyone who chooses to take the info and decide for themself they believe it. You are like an atheist who, though he does not believe in God, spends all his time trying to convince those that do they are wrong. If the atheist is right then he should not care if others believe. It has no effect on him. I think deep down you wanted Peyton to come to Nashville and you put faith in someone who said it was hapening and then it did not. If I am reading you wrong then i apologize.

I don't take any pleasure in telling someone that they are wrong. But thanks for reading into all that. Seems like reading into things has become a habit for some people. If you read my comments for what they are and not what you want them to be, you will see that my issue is not with people who want Gruden to come, but those who say that he is coming without providing anything to prove that what they said is in fact true. It's all here say until it becomes public. Why is this so hard for some people? It's not rocket science

I believe that the "insiders" in this thread have, at one time in this thread, said that "from what I am hearing, what I heard, I was told". So one should reason that this is all conjecture. Now some have quoted the "insiders" posts that said 100% or he is our next coach, and implied what you are saying. But if one would read the entire body of work, you would see that they are stateing, it as an opinion and not fact. Although thier sources may be powerful enough that they would choose to believe that it is indeed fact, based on who they know or heard it from. And most of them have stated that you can believe it or not.

This absolutely needs to go in the Cliff Notes thread.

Thanks for putting in words what I never could. Well said Fish!

People like you have come and gone here. You'll either get sucked in, or you'll run off and tell all your nega-Grude friends that we're a joke. Either way...we have more of a chance to suck you in, than you have to change our minds. We actually have more fertilizer on our green field than you do. All you have is:

-lots of people say this and that
-remember Shannon?
-just because he said, doesn't mean she said
-it just sounds fishy

The common denominators here are much more believable and certainly a whole lot more fun and exciting.

That's not what was said. Dan posted that he had been poking around and that nothing was firm. That means he has heard something but just nothing definitive.

I don't agree with you and you can feel free to move along. You're free to be skeptical but it's pointless to try and drag other people down just because you disagree with literally nothing to support it.

I disagree with everything you just said. I don't know why, but I do.
