Now that's psychoanalysis at it's best ladies and gentlemen. This is so ridiculousness... I don't even know where to begin. First off, I am still trying to figure out what in the heck atheism has to do with the comments I made about speculation. IF YOU CAN READ, THEN PLEASE READ THIS AND THEN THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE. I NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER, (DID I SAY NEVER) EVER BASHED ANYONE FOR CHOOSING TO BELIEVE THAT GRUDEN MIGHT COME TO UT. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TELL ME YOU UNDERSTAND THAT. I ONLY TOOK ISSUE WITH PEOPLE READING INTO THINGS LIKE PENS AND MEDIA SPECULATION AND TURNING IT INTO THEIR OWN INDISPUTABLE FACTS. THAT'S IT! TAKE YOUR BELIEF THAT GRUDEN IS COMING AND HAVE FUN SPECULATING AND HOPING THAT HE COMES. BUT DON'T TELL ME THAT I AM BASHING PEOPLE FOR HOLDING OUT HOPE THAT HE'S COMING. YOU LACK THE FACTS NEEDED TO MAKE THAT STATEMENT! JUST DON'T SAY HE HAS SIGNED A CONTRACT OR THAT YOU HAVE TALKED TO AN INSIDE SOURCE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE A CASE FOR YOUR COMMENT.

Chris Petersen would be my next choice. I know his teams only have to get up 2 or 3 times a year for a big opponent but it really is impressive that they come out on top. A lot of their recruiting classes are ranked like 80th and 90th. So consistently winning against better opponents and coaching up the talent he gets impresses me. He does a good job of evaluating talent.

I wouldn't mind Gary Patterson. I do prefer Petersen more though.

A lot of people wouldn't be happy with Dan Mullen or Pat Fitzgerald but I actually don't think they'd be bad hires. Given how that they've done a good job building up Miss State and Northwestern, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing what they're capable of at Tennessee. They'd have far more to work with.

The last coach that intrigues me is Jim Mora. Former NFL coach that has UCLA 8-2 in his first season. I'm impressed by the job he has done.

As long as he stays in college, I think he'll remain a West Coast guy. He openly campaigned for the UW job while he was still coaching the Falcons.

I just thought of a good way to punk Jimmy hyams. Call in and ask what he thinks about Charles Lee Ray's name being thrown out as hc possibility. There is no way he would get the reference (It's chucky's real name btw)

I rarely listen to 990 but I always hate when Hyams starts every interview by calling whoever by their first name and saying "Jon, how you doin'??? in that fake we have been best friends for a long time voice. Best moment was when he said "I am joined now by a former coach at UT Johnny Majors" Majors responded.."that is former HEAD coach"

I could agree with a lot of your post...but right now, it doesn't matter all of a sudden. Forgive me, please.

If Gruden already has a house in TN...I'm pretty sure he can claim residency. With his current job, I'm pretty sure he can/could live anywhere he wants.

There has been a lot of positive info, so I'm not trying to be a downer...but I find the cost of living and state income tax arguments as fairly weak.

That part seems like a stretch.

Cost of living, and the state income tax point have been expressed to me as key selling points. We talked about that being a key for JG about a month ago.

Also the silence from the Gruden side of this confirms a lot of what I've been told about who is driving the behaviour surrounding all of this. Makes sense.

Thanks for sharing.:salute:
