Good idea...you were beginning to embarrass yourself.

Uncalled for IMO. Dan has brough us information that jives with what some of our other "insiders" have said and he is going out of his way to provide us information.

My comment to him was about an email I sent him a couple of days ago, which came as a result of a meeting I had with a client that had a son with a connection in a department at UT. I just wanted to know if it was possible the "source" he claimed would have any knowledge of the Gruden situation. He didn't respond, so I took it that either

a. he was getting bombarded with emails

b. he thought I was being fed a "story" by my client.

Either way, I still appreciate his information on this board.

Email sent. I must have missed that one.

I have apologized and told Erik that I'd back off. Now I apologize to all of you. I'm taking a step back for a bit, much needed IMO

Sometimes passion for your profession goes into turbo mode...and causes fires. Cool off and come bck...tho, k bro?

Ainge: " Hey listeners, since Gruden has been announced I can come clean with you now. My early reporting of the Gruden to UT story came out a bit early in the whole process and folks that I have great respect for asked me to squash my stance on it. When I was told that the media attention was making Gruden antsy I complied since I really wanted him coaching our Vols. I knew my listeners were smart enough to understand that my denial was obviously over the top and that my true stance hadn't really changed. You guys are awesome and it's a great day to be a Vol."

See how easy that is.

I don't disagree that this may be what he does. I'm just pointing out that this is a complicit admission that equates to:

"Hey! Look! I outright lied on the air. I'm admitting now that I lied to my listeners. I hope you're happy enough about Gruden to either forgive or forget that I purposefully lied to you, my listeners."

And it will cost him dearly to those who care about whether their on-air sources of info have been untruthful.

For me, I couldn't care less. I distrust the media instinctively, lol.

Damage is done.

Not really imo, many on here have had similar things happen, myself included. I do not think getting emotional about something you know that another is flat out denying is long term damaging. It was a bit unprofessional but far from negating the things he has brought to the forum. JMO

According to the latest rumor making the rounds, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram is ready to break the story that ESPN analyst Jon Gruden will be the next head coach of the Razorbacks for a reported deal that would make him the highest-paid coach in all of college football, somewhere north of $6 million a year.

Is Gruden really in the Hogs’ future?*|*HOG COUNTRY

So, has anybody ever coached 13 teams at once??

What would a report from ft worth like this do if it said we were the school??

I can answer that question.

Passion is powerful and this seems to have gone over the top. Think Dan has given a lot of info that seems to be panning out. Lets not find fault if may have gone a little overboard with EA.

The fact that any of you guys believe this troll is beyond me. You guys are like a bunch of guys that never had a girlfriend under 300 lbs and then meet Mila Kunis' sister in a chat room and start Internet dating. Gullible is an understatement. You guys probably click those ads that say 'congrats you're a $100000 winner!'

It's the unprofessional part I was speaking about. The damage has been done for Dan in his professional world IMO. This board darn sure isn't going to help in that department

And here is what HogWaller had to say at grudenville

LOL, only took about 3 days, but VN finally figured out what CSI means...they're sharp as a tac that's for sure.
Known what it means for a while and loved the lulz of the t-shirts but wasn't worth mentioning. I do appreciate them for keeping us all laughing!
BTW That arky fan is sharp as a "tac" too isn't he?

Maybe so, but still calling Eric Ainge an idiot is hardly cause for a career change lol.

When you know something for sure, or 100% believe you do as Dan does sometimes you say things that are our of character. It is what it is, and in two days it is an irrelevant page buried under 100 other pages and completely forgotten.

I don't click those ads...and I am gullible to this thread...but what you just posted is pretty funny. And made me tuck my tail a little bit.
