I give TB credit for what he says about how we should have gone the interim route after Kiffin. I know hindsight is 20/20, but it's obvious Hamilton just panicked. I seriously doubt Kippy Brown would have had a worse record than Dooley that first year, and a proper search could have been conducted. Of course, Hamilton would have been leading that search so never mind.

Also I don't believe you can overstate how much cache Grudens name will carry, especially this year in recruiting. The publicity surrounding this will unfathomable.

morning Boro and GMAN,and well said...the media from the national side(ESPN,even though they hate us,lol)to the local,to the local blow hards(Rucker and such) will be on his jock
so hard that no one will be able to avoid it...recruits included...look how a little media attention from Kiffin turned into a circus(ok the wrong kind of circus,but as PT Barnum said,there isw no such thing as bad publicity
unless of course you are trying to make UT a punchline),but UT was all over the place and the recruits took notice...just imagine it 5x fold but with a genuinely liked coach who won't embarrass us with his off the wall antics

Well most of Kiffins ordeals were made public because he chose to. Most secondary violations that coaches make are never known to the public. A few years ago I believe the report was Saban reported more secondarys than anyone, however most of us had no clue they even happened because he kept them quiet. he didn't knowingly have a recruit on a television program, say something about a player being GREAT on the radio that he was recruiting. he also didn't accuse another coach of cheating when he violated the rules himself.

History is important...after the exits of the new coach's predecessors, the image of giving the current coach a fair shake is helping to shape timelines.
