Not a math geek but think it might have something do with less games? Alot of the coaches today deal with more games and are less worried about winning late in the season when things are wrapped up.

Without getting too nuts or political, I wish the red states could run things the way they saw fit and the blue states the way they saw fit. The federal government has too much power.

Here are the others-

All told, petitions have been filed on behalf of 20 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

Which is 2 more than requested the same thing in 2000. Of course then you had to submit the request in writing. The Obama administration setup a website for this sort of thing.

I wonder if they are rethinking that idea now.

The NFL is set up, purposefully, for parity. It's good for the league as a whole to not let any one team get too far ahead of the curve for too long. A coach's winning percentage in the NFL won't translate directly to college, and vice versa. Too many variables.
