I have friends that are blue and friends that are red. They all can be crazy and they all can be very rational.

All I know is that wherever I am, I am in an Orange state....

of mind.

I was talking to a "Bama Fan" yesterday and he was upset with the way that Saban had coached the last 2 games. Said in the previous game he chewed out players over the little things and the past 2 games hes just stood on the sidelines with his arms crossed. The still in a state of shock down here, and it's great to watch.

Maybe he's spending too much time in Dallas.

Tried that under The Articles of Confederation. It didn't work. That's why we have The Constitution ever since.

I'm not proposing that we go back to the Articles Of Confederation. I don't dispute the need for a federal government or its power to tax. My dispute is that the government has overstepped its power and is involved in things it shouldn't be involved in. My leanings are very libertarian in this regard. I feel like states should have the right to decide how they want to handle most issues that are not part of national defense, infrastructure, foreign diplomacy, etc. The federal government has become too bloated. That's been done by both parties.

This will be the last bit of info I can share, he rarely comes through Chattanooga, but has more frequently recently and is headed out of town for a while, so I will give you what I know/he knows. Dooley is more out today than he was 7-10 days ago. There was a lot of hope that he would beat Missouri and close out strong. That did not happen. Some boosters, not this one, have agreed to buy out Dooley's contract as well as his assistants. I don't know how many assistants or if any will be retained. That will be up to the new coach. It is my understanding that Sunseri and Chaney will both be dismissed, as far as Graham and others that is yet to be determined. I was led to believe that the money for a Gruden type contract could be there if it is a Gruden type hire. Who is a Gruden type hire if it is not him? I don't know. From what I was told, I don't believe that they will settle for a coordinator even at the NFL level or a mid level college coach. This AD cannot overcome another coaching search three years from now and the feeling is that the new coach must be committed to staying at UT for several years and I am not sure that a Gruden type hire would do that. They had really hoped that Dooley would work out and contrary to what many were saying it was a very recent decision to let him go. Dooley has not been officially told that he will be let go and he was being honest. However, unofficially he has been told that it is unlikely that he will return. All of this talk with boosters has been initiated by Hart's people, not Hart himself so it is plausible deniability if it is leaked to the media thus no official statement from the AD or the department.

He didn't divulge into if we were going to go after Gruden or not?

It's all good my friend.

Did I tell you that we're after Jon Gruden?

I wouldn't judge Zook by his head coaching tenure at FL. He's a great defensive mind and an excellent recruiter. Members of the staff that can poach players in Florida and Georgia are almost essential nowadays for the SEC. The addition of Tee Martin would open up SoCal and would help us lock down the instate talent. Jalen Ramsey would be ours in no time, and we DESPERATELY need a lock down corner of his caliber. I think it would be fun to watch a Morris coached D and i think he would be a great recruiter, but Zook is proven. Either would be exciting.

gonna come back later when the political talk is over....(We need more Orange states if you ask me)

This is Happy Hour. Every day from 9am-4pm is the serious TN football chat time.
I chit you not.

At about 10am Boro, OV and others start confirming news reports, rumors, and as of today...radio reports that make this situation even more interesting and developing!!!

But man...if you leave now, you're gonna miss some funny stuff between now and 10pm, which is when the grave yard shift comes in and keeps the momentum towards the next JG thread progression!

I'm being totally serious.

You guys are talking about meaningless citizens petitions when the "petition" that really matters is 67,000 + posts about Gruden. It's clear who vol nation prefers. :D

And this is what happens when only 6-8 people have any real info and the rest of us are tagging along...I suspect that the JG threads would not be all the way to VII were it not for such useless diatribe.

Das Grudenthread is all encompassing.

Zook is a good defensive coach. Smartly hired Paul Petrino. But no one would like the hire. His record and history is terrible. He'll end up at another mid-major or never coach again.
