If you're going 'all in' to bring UT football back to the top, then you DO NOT cut corners..... anywhere.. You're going to pay Gruden BIG money to coach football.. Let thim have the staff he wants.. Who is better qualified to make decisions on the people (and their qualifications) that will be working with/for him?

That's cool, not my money. He better bring the wins if he ends up with a zero excuses staff.

Calling me unpatriotic is a very easy way to piss me off. America. Sucks. At. Soccer. Deal with it. Germany is my heritage and by nature my second favorite country. If I'm going to be willing to lay down my life day in and day out for this country, than I also have the right to root for whoever I damn well please.

Well said, that was totally uncalled for. Secondly finally confirms it was Soccer you guys were talking about lol.

If we are gonna bring Gruden in I think its silly to hamstring him with a cut rate staff out of the blocks. Maybe in year 3 or so we can start pulling coaches from the assistant ranks for coordinator positions, but not in the beginning.

Yep...exactly what I was trying to express.

Cut rate hell no, but 1.5m each? I doubt the numbers are correct. If they are in fact his demands, I doubt we see him here.

Anyway, I want to win and would love to see Gruden. For now I choose to believe the numbers are bull****.

Its crazy money for sure, but look what we are doing now. Almost 11 million in buyouts between Fulmer and Dooley. Thats just pissing money, Id rather pay stupid money up front to build something and create an atmosphere of winning which in turn will bring coaches begging to work under Gruden.

Following that logic...it makes perfect sense that we have swung for the fence this time around.

If we were to lose today; how long before the DD announcement comes.

Sunday. Monday or Tuesday or later?

Just curious about your opinion.

My opinion:

If we lose today, Dooley gone Monday

If we win today, Dooley gone Monday after UK game

Yes yes yes yes yes

The payoff will be there.

Do you think the problem between AD and academic side might have been worked out, and that was the last hurdle before the MOU?

I personally think that the contract terms were much more important than the "total control" issues that were floating around. I think they needed to come to an agreement on the money. That is 100% guess.

I hate giving a timeline. It should happen tomorrow just because it is a heavy NFL news day and it will not get "as much" attention.

That being said, I refuse to entertain the thought of losing to Vandy.

I really want us to win out. We get a bowl game and an extra month of practice for new coach to gel with his team
