It is possible.

Like others have said nothing is done until its done.

But I am not concerned. Gruden has shown much more interest and is much more invested into this opp than before or with other openings.

It is clear to me he wants to be here and will leave ESPN high and dry if he has to do so.

I am convinced and confident that the wife/family element of the Tennessee job is what will keep this deal intact and lead Gruden to signing on the dotted line.

Wait a minute. Can Dools be publicly fired, yet the ink isnt dry on his termination papers? Could he simply be "in hiding"...while it "appears" that he has been fired to calm the rumblings...Chaney is named interim coach to go with the cover and to salvage a Senior day game?...We have yet to see any kind of "official statement" from Dools, aside from a short statement attached to articles saying he was gone...maybe he just wanted out of the spotlight early, but we are holding him to full contract term for the season...and we will not in fact hear any announcement about JG until after Kensucky sucky...

Yeh, conspiracy theorist here...humor me...

Dooley is my uncle. He is moving back to Louisiana.

Yo SBV,

I think this is a good question.

The longer this process takes the better chance at Gruden or the worse? If Gruden is fulfilling his obligation to ESPN then the longer it takes the better right?

Dooley quit on his guys last week against Mizzu...looked like they were done with him then. If you don't think a lot of the BS in Nashville was Dooley's last Eff U to the program, then I can't help ya. Dooley is a petty, spiteful person. Stories of his temper tantrums around the AD will come out. Stories of his mistreatment of players will come.

Dooley came in and expected/demanded he be respected. He never did ANYTHING to earn it. You have to, as the HBC, sell your kids on your ways and convince them that you're the man thats gonna lead them onto the field with a chance to win every Saturday, allow them the opportunity to get better and get to the next level, and put them in positions to shine.

Dooley did NONE of those things. Dooley showed Bray (who was on a hot streak) that he didn't believe in the offense and their ability to atleast give Palardy a shot to kick a game winner. That was the final straw. Hunter and Bray were livid in the Mizzu game. It was bad.

I agree with all of that. Bray was livid after what happened against Mizzou, which is why he totally mailed it in against Vandy. You could tell he just didnt give a rip. He sqirted a Vols fan in the face with a water bottle when walking off the field. Bray is a first class a-hole and he'll try and go to the NFL if someone gives him reason to believe he can. There is no way Bray will survive under a real head coach that demands discipline.

But I also said that Dooley was responsible for letting all that happen. It was his failure to get the respect of the players or make them leave the program.

In other news...Worley looks decent...think Grudes can groom him?

Dooley came in like he was a Saban or something and had no resume to back it up. You cannot demand respect you have to earn it. If you are respectful people will generally give you the benefit of the doubt. Slowly over time people saw through his rouge including his players.

Ok...I may have selectively read what you posted. Good stuff!

Hart's PC sounded like he knew who he wanted.... I've heard he and Jimbo are tight.... It seems like everything might fit him too....

He wouldn't be the worst but clearly not the best!
Long live Gruden fever!

Longer is preferred by all parties involved.
