I wouldn't expect much from those two knuckleheads in regards to factual information on Gruden to UT.

Had a co-worker tell me yesterday that a friend of his has family that is somewhat connected to the family of Gruden in the Knox area, and that they said he would be the next coach of Tennessee about a month ago. My coworker is a Tennessee fan but does not keep up with anything outside of just watching them play. He had no idea Gruden was even a possibility until I told him yesterday. TIFWIW and the only reason I posted it was because of the fact that he's not invested in the Vols as deep as all of us and would have no reason to make it up because he could really care less. Hope it's true!

I tend to agree, but I am worried about the $ amount...sometimes that can sway things...keep hearing they are prepared to make their next coach the highest-paid in the SEC...hopefully, that is just me being a worrywart

I wouldn't worry. I'd say we will make Gruden the highest paid SEC coach when all is said and done, and Arkansas will have no bearing on that.

My guess is around 5.6mil when all the smoke clears.

They could offer him 7mil and he still would not go to Fayetteville. Money is not everything

I can not possibly stress enough to you fine people how much it annoys me to see Arkansas mentioned in the same breath as Tennessee when it comes to the Gruden discussion. Really chaps my arse. I don't even dislike Arkansas that much. They're a West team that we really have no rivalry with. I just don't see why on God's green earth he would ever consider it. I do not believe for one second he's going there, but when Mike Tirico, of all people, says it, I can't help but to throw up in my mouth a little bit.
