This is just my theory. I think that someone very close to this situation is leaking information someone that has direct eyes on the MOU. I think we are receiving accurate info from boro and company. However, Like we have all stated an mou is just somewhat of a gentlemans agreement. REMEMBER: that this same similar thing happen to Notre Dame. Gruden left them crying at the altar.

Now before you whine how much better we are than Notre Dame.
I just simply think Gruden doesn't have the balls to get back into coaching at the college level. Yes I am calling him out and I know he doesn't read this board.

At the end of the day I think he flirts flirts and flirts some more. But when it comes to sign the real dotted line he ain't got the balls. He has been offered tons of contracts in years past. Put it just doesn't seem to pan out. If he wants to get back into coaching he is going to have to grow a pair and earn his darn salary imo. I hope i am wrong but JG show me you got the nuts to come shut down Saban.

My second point is that did people really think we Tennessee were going to stay irrelavant forever, I mean really? we are tennessee! At the end of the day no coach or player will be bigger than our program and that includes MR. JG (grow a pair pending)!!

Of course I never needed a lot of convincing. I think that Gruden was always interested in the UT job. The timing was never right.

UT is, and always will be, a desirable job (the post Kiffin year notwithstanding).

I text my sister last night (she knows I've been clean for 5 1/2 years) and I says, I says "Sis, Jon Gruden has signed a MOU to be the next coach at UT (shes a huge VolFan) and she says to me, she says, and I quote " Brother, you're high".


I'm SO heart broken! (and smiling)

I promise...that is what the man siad this morning. He had confirmed that Jon is assembling a staff to coach somewhere. But the location is still TBD. He said that Jon is asking for $1 million for both his brother and for Ron Zook. And he (Jimmy) thought the chances that would end up in Knoxville were next to nil.

But he did say, keep an eye on Stoops....(made he think Jimmy been in the sauce this morning)

I am not sure how Gruden could influence the timing of an NCAA investigation wrapping up.

Well they have text me today that Cindy Gruden is apparently at CAK today. Again, I have no way of confirming this and who knows...could be kids just messing around but just thought I would share. I think you underestimate the importance of an MOU in coaching.

He did not sign an MOU with Notre Dame, and if he has signed one with us, there is little chance he will breach it.

Rough outline of most likely coaching staff and projected salaries:

HC – Gruden – $5M
OC/QB – Shoop – $500K
RB – Graham – $225K
WR – Martin – $300K
OL – Pittman – $275K
TE/ST – Bisaccia – $400K
DC/DB – Morris – $1M
DL – Hobby – $400K
LB – Barry – $400K

Head Coach Salary - $5,000,000
Assistants Salaries - $3,500,000

This leaves us with one additional assistant coach position at roughly $500K/year.

UT was in the process of appeal (2nd or 3rd). If Gruden said he would come if the issue were gone, they drop said appeal and take it like men...fair enough?
