This is the only thing that still give me hope. If the negotiations have broke off I would expect something to leak from the Gruden camp.

To appease a handful of believers on this site when the media is telling the bulk of fans a small chance he is coming. How many of the 1,000,000 VOL fans visit this site. I think Gruden camp could care less.

Honestly, I am shocked at the names being mentioned. The fact Hyams would actually say out loud to watch out for Fulmer shows me that they are utterly clueless.

Hyams had great sources when Fulmer was here and he has not since Fulmer left. He is butt hurt about it, and tries to insert himself with 3rd and 4th hand info!

This is of what I am afraid. Why address an issue that hasn't been brought to you? Of course, if no talks occurred then surely the media would say that rather than "talks have 'broken off'," right? I think that's the disconnect that still makes this whole situation plausible. I'm just not putting all my eggs in one basket.

Why leave Beverly Hills? He's a west coast guy. If he shows interest I think it's to get a raise. Imo

If that the 4 million for assistant salaries is indeed the issue, then UT will never be able to compete.

Money is not the "snag". The "snag" is that Gruden wants complete control of the program and the administration is not willing to give it up from what everyone is hearing.

Well if you're a guy wanting full control, you're obviously wanting a lot of grip on ALL aspects of the situation - which in my mind would include leaks in the AD office, etc. Nothing brings out the leaks like a coaching hire. If this is all part of the smokescreen, Gruden walks in effectively knowing who within the AD and who in the media he can trust and deal with. It may just be a coincidence but it would no doubt be a smart and effective strategy.
