I am 100% Gruden 100% of the time. Here's a question I pose. In the drastic circumstance he does not come here, what is everyone's gut feeling about how we would do with the other top 4 (Stoops, Fisher, Mora jr, Strong)

Strong would be the only one possible...and that would suck

Since the deal isn't dead or done, Hart (in my humble opinion) is interviewing candidates not only to have a plan B, but also to leverage Gruden's agent by saying we can get a proven college coach for lower cost/demands.

Could be brilliant. Could be disastrous.

Ok..Dooley was fired on the 18th..Didn't SBV post something about a 10 day window due to the Tampa buyout to Gruden?

That being said, I'm still positive that Gruden is coming and not waivering in spite of the ups and downs in here tonight..Gotten accustomed to them.

Apologies for being a prick today. Started drinkin early but still no excuse. I just like having fun in here and try to get along with everyone.

No problem. I come here just for the laughs everyday. I never take the internet serious. Also, I would never purposefully offend someone. It's all 'bout the giggles.

If Phil was such a great coach why hasn't another college or pro team swooped in and hired him???

I have to admit, I would take Fulmer over Golden or maybe even Davis, and I'm not Fulmer apologist. I don't think he'd do any worse than some of names supposedly being mentioned.

To rebuff my critics....I'm actually a nice person. I really am. Except for when it comes to Jon Gruden. I don't want the Volunteer faithful to go through what I've already gone through. I don't want you to have to suffer as I have. I was a Jon Gruden fan once upon a time. Believe it or not, I was exactly like the majority of you...sunshine, rainbows, and Gruden can do no wrong.

Then, 2003-2008 happened.

I watched a team with all the potential in the world do absolutely nothing with it. I watched a self-proclaimed offensive genius lose games where the defense had held their opponents to less than 20 points. I watched far too many false start and delay of game penalties. I watched a team that I pull for crumble to the ground in ashes.

Tennessee football is my one true faith. I would give up all my other sports allegiances for Tennessee. Gone would be the days of watching Mike Alstott, Ronde Barber, Warren Sapp, and Derrick Brooks prowl Raymond James Stadium. Gone would be my memories of Bobby Cox, David Justice, Terry Pendleton, and Chipper Jones at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and later at Turner Field. Gone would be the times I spent with my grandfather at Joe Louis Arena watching Sergei Fedorov and Steve Yzerman define what hockey was supposed to look like, for nothing more than to hear my beloved Rocky Top.

So, no, I will NOT change my allegiance if Gruden is hired. I will NOT "root for the Vols to lose so that I am right". Inasmuch as I want to be right, I want the Vols to win more. However, you will never hear a kind word from me pertaining to Gruden, and in no way, shape, or form will I ever give him credit for winning a football game if he is named the coach at Tennessee. It is perfectly acceptable to love the team, and to despise the coach. I've seen first hand what Jon Gruden can do to a team. I don't want to go through it again with my beloved Big Orange. That's all. I just wish that I could let each and every one of you look through my eyes at him as I do. You wouldn't see the savior of a program at all, you'd see something quite the opposite.

Too long, didn't read.

But since you are a Tampa Bay fan, I will assume that this is some kind of diatribe about his time there.

UT is not In the NFL.

But could we? Strong proven?
