Alright guys, I'm out. My Grudometer has hit zero. Popped up to twenty five percent a week or two ago, but no news is bad news IMO. I'm convinced now this isnt happening, based on reading the tea leaves from the "insiders.". I'm with Hubbs. If this were real and a deal were done, theyd announce it ASAP. I will believe it when I see it.

We still will get a good coach, I'm certain of that.

I disagree. I believe if Gruden hasn't shot down the speculation by end of the week then his hiring looks even more promising.

There is a process for things to happen...

I understand...maybe you do too now..I was not calling you out or attacking you. I actually think you are a good poster.. but I wanted to help you if I could stay with what you know and believe.....which ever side that is

I think Volnation is a great place for discussion. It truly is a discussion of how we perceive the program, the future of all things Vols. It's interesting to hear peoples perspectives on things and I enjoy that aspect of it. I would be elated if Gruden came. I really would just feel like these 5 years of turmoil are going to be washed away. Either way, we will get a great coach. If it's Gruden, **** YES. IF its Golden, where is the closest bridge?

Yep, and this should make vol fans even more confident that Gruden is very interested in UT.

Definitely. He would have denied the rumors and gave the whole, "remains committed to ESPN" from his own mouth if talks were closed off and there's no chance. So obviously, they are still in talks.

Keep working him. You should be able to get him to believe whatever you want.

I like was wondering some thing similar to earlier tonight.Fulmer says he wants to coach again. But you gotta wonder.

Bless Phillip Fulmer as he is, deservedly, a Hall of Fame coach. He is not, however, equipped to run a major college athletic department--unless of course we are aiming much lower in our standards. This is an enormous business and Fulmer simply is not a business man in the way in which one needs to run a top-ten athletic department. If you haven't watched the Sixty Minutes piece last Sunday on the so-called business of college football you should check it out...

Has college football become a campus commodity? - 60 Minutes - CBS News

In short, Universities are hiring people with significant business experience--Michigan's AD is a former CEO. Pat Haden of USC made his post-NFL career in private equity. These people know what they are doing and, like all businesses, they will crush those that are not up to speed.

FWIW I'm not suggesting that Hart is some great business man but that is another conversation altogether.

Don't know you except from posts. Considering all the rude arses around, you always seem respectful. I appreciate that as a visitor here... Just wanted to pass that along

Someone should ask Hubbs why he is shooting down the Gruden talk when a prominent 1980's era Volunteer is spreading joyous news as we speak to many former players.

Either Hubbs knows about this and is lying through his teeth or he is oblivious to something that ALOT of people just became aware of. My guess is the former. The cat's out of the bag to former players.

Whats this all about? This sounds interesting.
