I have reason to believe that as of now, many prominent former Volunteer football players are in the know as to what's going down. Until now, only the more involved ones knew.

If anyone on the boards has any connections to prominent former players (i.e. not a backup punter), they will likely know what I am talking about and can expand. The Vol Family is being united. Hubbs and Hyams are about as trustworthy as a Cocke County meth addict. What a joke.

Just say what it is you dont have to give sources. Hubbs is trustworthy, i just think he has incorrect information.

I met a guy thru a friend at the gym the other day.He was the ETSU grad that posted in 7 OR 8 about being friends with Larry Brooks JGs brother in law.Of course I had to ask.He said watch the Raiders .Gruden and Al Davis son have a real close relationship.He told me that he told JG he would have total controle if he would come back to Oakland.Iam not an insider just right place right time.I hope hes wrong.

Regardless, Hart realizes the extreme importance of this hire. Football is the engine that drives the entire AD. If he doesn't hit a big time hire, then there will truly be a nuclear winter for the UTAD.

So if it's not Gruden, it will be someone very good.

Me too. And if the Vols don't get Gruden, it better be someone good. What other possible coaching candidates does anyone think could do this - figuratively speaking?

I suggested earlier that Freak make the OG all moderators of this thread. And give them the ability to ban posters from this thread for 24 hours, to be used as needed.

I confess. I have been punchy tonight. The truth is making an announcement after tonights game would have been rushed. I have no idea what is going on. I don't think the time thing has reached critical. If J. Graham has a recruiting target list he can easily ask recruits to give it a few more days while expressing serious interest. I have enjoyed the story the OG's have rolled out. Be interesting to see it play out if it will.

Decent point really. USC has better players now than UT and they have an excellent class coming in next year. Of course I hate saying all of this. But...
