We are speculating on speculation at this point.
All of that is a possibility. I just think that all parties can be totally in and reach a point where it is impossible for the deal to go through. That doesn't mean that all parties don't want it, it just means it can't happen.
Let's say JG is going to be the highest paid head coach in the college ranks (which would put him pretty high on the NFL list, I am sure). Is it more unreasonable that UT decides to stand firm on some administration or hierarchy demands? I mean they could say listen, we are already paying you more than any coach in the history of college football and you have no wins or losses, surely you can understand that we need X. If you need X, maybe you can just take a little less money and everyone is happy.
