Honestly, Hart has not showed me that he is NOT the dumbest AD in the business...hoping a Gruden hire proves me wrong...

Can anyone comment on Dave Serrano's hire? Was that a hush hire that came out of nowhere or that when it was leaked it was announced soon? I know Serrano was Hart's first hire so to speak.

You don't tell anyone you've chosen your guy until it's time to announce especially if you are required to interview X number of candidates.

Well, I live in Dayton, I will be at the UD basketball game on Saturday, and I will keep my eyes on this situation for sure. I will post any updates.

Update: As mentioned above, UD plays Northern Illinois this Saturday, but there are no Alumni events scheduled.

And its like the same 10 callers every day. Roger, Jim from Illinois, the one guy Chris or whatever his name is that acts as if he is hosting the show, etc. So aggravating. Too much stupidity to try and counter act.

Dude, I hear you. The reports make no sense at all. For them to be true, Hart would appear to be content to let the recruiting period continue to slip away without any urgency.

Sadly, I will just weep openly by myself, bemoaning our cursed fate. :cray:

Enough of that shiz. I'm keeping positive thoughts. We've got lots of good, well-connected UT fans telling us this is a done deal and Gruden is our man. Let's close the deal and send his ass on the road to start recruiting. :good!:

Hyams is hinting we would not have a coach until the middle of December. Why would we waste the December recruiting window? This class will probably erode if that is the case and make it more difficult to compete for the next couple of years.

Last post in the Cliff Notes is pretty exciting. Guy from 247 board says this at end of his post.

"There is a University of Dayton (Gruden's alma mater) annual alumni event this Saturday. Gruden has spoken at this event every year for the last 9 years. He has cancelled this year with a vague "scheduling conflict" excuse. His replacement speaker, Chuck Noll, let slip that "I guess Jon will be in Knoxville next weekend..."

I agree. Unless JG really does need to finish out his contract at ESPN and does not want anything announced until afterwards.

All signs point to a Gruden hire (including several fine insiders here at VN). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this time -- this one stinking time -- they get it right.

I can't describe how drunk I'm gonna get if they pull the trigger on Gruden.
