Spent on N. Asso from the Raiders, 1/2 of the infamous "Hall-n-Asso" CBs of the Raiders for a few games a few years back. The main reason for Asso being considered great was that there never was anyone playing CB on the other side. Why throw at him when the other side was always open?

I just thought is appropriate to point out to all of you that, according to Find People, Lookup Phone Numbers, Run Background Checks, Access Public Records | USSearch.com, there are actually four people named "Jon Gruden" in the the United States alone and another 26 people named "John Gruden."

So, just because our AD is rumored to have a tentative deal, we can't be fully assured he got the right one. Normally, I would be more optimistic, but after the last couple of hires, I have no choice but to be cautious.

If there are truth to the rumors about the TB payment, that would be one reason for a delay, albeit a brief one. And if the comments in the recent post about Gruden's bowl broadcasting schedule is accurate, they might be negotiating their way out of his ESPN contract. It is quite possible that contract contains complicated escape language, even if he was to leave for a college gig.

I don't know, but it's not unreasonable to assume their is something we simply aren't aware of.

From a PR standpoint it better be Gruden or someone huge. Since they haven't denied it, it is building everything up for a huge hire. If someone like Golden is announced.there will be more than mattresses burning...

speaking of big hires, who that has not been mentioned, that currently is unemployed, would be considered a homerun hire as well???
