Why would major media outlets squash a story that has only been passed around by "sources" on forums and local media. Has ESPN or other major outlets even acknowledged an offer even been placed?

I've been trained in espionage, and have toyed with the idea of sneaking in myself. If there is no announcement by monday, I am green-lighting my little "mission".

Ok. All UT alumni on capital hill are saying Gruden. They are in the know. Not sure how they know, but I believe them. They are all 100% certain it will be announced friday at 5. It could be earlier. They have to get him out of several contracts. It has taken a ton of legal paperwork and negotiations on both sides. It will be the most expensive hire in NCAA football history

Might have to call BS on this one. People who work in government, including myself, know to call it Capitol Hill, not Capital Hill. Sorry if it sounds ridiculous, but its true. Hard to trust the rest of the information when that part is wrong.

Well the GC Parade was earlier in the week but that was more for the GC itself and a combination of Christmas. Thanksgiving in Canada was like 2 months ago so that was a bit different. Today was the Championship parade in downtown Toronto. People were all over. Nobody was working and the driving was real slow. Great time had by all.


Something very interesting is going on over at ESPN. My sources friend is going to be on a radio show in Alabama in a couple of hrs and they are going to be talking about it. Well it looks like ESPN has to plan ahead now for the broadcasting team not for MNF but for College Football. Gruden is scheduled to do 2 radio play by play including the National Championship and 2 television games. 1 might be the Orange Bowl. The other not sure (possiblyOutback? maybe)

This is a real clincher cause Gruden is unable to work any college football play by play games for ESPN and coach UT. I heard about 2 hours ago that there is no way UT will wait past January 1st to name a new coach. So unless Gruden begs then UT is going to go after a new coach and was told that there is no way its going to happen. Gruden informing and working out the details as of now to be done with ESPN College Football is a big sign that Gruden is making a move.

I asked ''So Gruden is coming to UT if he comes to the NCAA?''

Response ''Gruden is either going to UT or will wait for NFL job''

Just a thought....on these post by volreporter...are the letters he is putting in parenthesis a clue..like he is spelling either a sources name or a coach name or something...just a thought.

For the record, my Grudenometer popped up briefly last night when SpringBokVol posted, but dropped back to zero today. Too much discussion of NFL possibilities and that makes the most sense to me in terms of where Gruden will go.

Sorry guys - almost all the "positives" in the Cliff Notes thread continue to be unaccountable message board posters. All the negatives are coming through reputable media sources (that have accountability for getting a story right) and they seem to make sense, at least from the standpoint of an outside observer.

Ok so I sent an e-mail to Jimmy about him saying that Hart is waiting till this weekend to speak with potential coaches so he can talk to them face to face. I told him that if Hart is waiting till this weekend to start this process he is putting his own job in jeopardy as other schools are already closing on their hires.

He said "I don't think he will hire without face to face meeting. I don't think UT was fishing in same pool as ky. I didn't say he wouldn't start til this weekend - I said he started tuesday and would continue thru next week."

I am sorry but there is no way he waited till Tuesday to start unless he is waiting on the monies that be to do the work for him. Can we please get a coach announced please.
