It's pretty clear that Gruden is UT's #1 choice by far.... and it's not even close.

They are going to do everything they can to come out with a fair deal.

The Grude gets pissy when things don't work out perfect - that same characteristic is one of the reasons he is a legendary coach. Demands perfection!

If this is your first Gruden thread you have missed a lot my friend.

they have been very close on the time line and even called the roller coaster ride we are currently on.

Not my first thread, not even close. Anyone could have called the roller coaster ride, this is UT after all.

As I have stated before, I sincerely hope the OG crew is correct. I think you have to be in the "text circle" to get good info. We get vague and thinly veiled references and assurances and sadly I love UT so much this is enough to make me believe.

Whenever I began to get enough info to get on the Gruden train there was one point that was repeated to me over and over:

Gruden wanted it all done his way. Period. That included the fact that he didn't want it to appear that he was pushing Dooley out. TIFWIW

Don't think anyone would say now that DD was "pushed" out. DD pushed himself out!

I know there has been mention of Zook on Gruden's staff if he accepted. Zook was on 92.9 The Game this morning and was asked about Gruden. A few nuggets from this. He said Gruden texted him at 3:15 this morning. He also said he was going down to Tampa tomorrow (Friday) to meet with him. It didn't sound like anything big but it does put both of them in Tampa on the supposed 'big day' in Knoxville. He also was pretty firm (no hesitation) on Gruden staying in the booth over the next year. Take it as you may. Just passing on what was said on the radio here in ATL.

To see if Zook would join him if Gruden accepted our job or any job?

He was confident that Gruden will still be in the booth for next year?

I think you are reading too much into what I said. I am still confident in my guys and the info I've been given all along. But things have tightened up, and I wouldn't trust much that is coming out right now based on what we've seen the last couple of days.

Yes sir - I'll admit I thought he was a joke until the last few days.

When we land gruden, that guy needs an upgrade. He has outplayed Knoxville Radio, Rivals, and GVX.

I just haven't had any new info....good or bad. My guys are in the dark right now, and the way this is being run would not lead me to being confident in whatever I was told.
