Interesting.

Believe he's right. If/ when we expand it would be a market or state we havent gotten into and no way S.Carol or UF would vote Clemson, FSO or Miami in since they are from the same states. I can see teams from N. Carol and VA being next if we expanded. Could definitely see NC and Duke coming as a package deal. Would be great for hoops but not so much for football. Also could see VA or Va Tech as options. Out of those 4 would prefer it be NC and Duke, jmo.

The debbie downers who have no basis for being down except for what Jimmy freaking Hyams reports are getting out of hand. Jimmy Hyams, the same guy who 4 days ago said there was 0% chance we'd even speak with Gruden, then 4 days later his "sources" say that a meeting was cancelled. Use logic.

I'm still a believer.

That said, if Gruden is just toying with us and doesn't take the job, I'm going all Updyke on him and will poison every tree on his land in TN. :)

we could also try and grab one of th oklahoma teams and maybe Kansas State...

The "Cindy Gruden wants to move to Knoxville" angle on this story is just BS. If she wanted to leave Tampa she can do so at any time she pleases. There is ZERO preventing her from living where she wants. She lives in Tampa because she chooses to do so.

It is not about living in Knoxville, per se. Cindy knows that Jon is a football coach and at some point, he will be somewhere. The question is does she want to be there?

Also, she knows that her family is so rooted in East TN that they would be ecstatic if they came home. Jon would be a hero in UT tradition if he came and turned the program around. She would rather succeed in East TN than have him succeed in San Diego or Philly.

I'm afraid we're getting what we were warned. Gruden will take it to the last minute and squirrel out. Man, I hope not. I mean, poor Cindy. Has to stay in Tampa bay!

Not sure his wife will let that happen. As it was posted lastnight she has been the biggest influence in him coming to TN and even Akeeter had heard that she told him to do whatever he had to do to make it happen. We shall see.

Could you imagine?? As if the SEC isn't dominant enough! Good googly-moogly!

I do not believe Gruden has backed away... I believe the more I hear the more I know Hymns report is FOS....

NO WAY that Gruden was asked to fly in here and interview with Hart in Knoxville... that is BS, Hart would have been on the private Jet going to Tampa or somewhere in secret to meet with Gruden
Lex is right on with his posts today...this cannot appear as it has been done for a month or even several for public preception

I agree this cannot look like it has been done for a while but I don't think the story out of Memphis about the browns was expected. That being said I think that will push the announcement out another week. Still feel like Gruden in the end. JMHO

Exactly. NC State (Raleigh, NC) interviewed Chad Morris (OC in Clemson, SC) in Atlanta and secrecy isn't really necessary in that situation.

I can't remember off of the top of my head where the interview took place, but even Mike Hamilton played that game when he interviewed Kiffin. Plain clothes, multiple connections, etc.

Hart did not just start the search, fact.

I know that not many care about my opinion but I am still firm. Nothing is 100% until it is done but everything is just as I have been told. My AD guys have really shut down now and the booster side is all over the place. I don't put any stock into the time of announcement. Not disputing anyone just don't have that info from my guys. We will know soon stay strong and take everything with a grain of salt from here until the PC.

Would the SEC rather have complete control of Florida or let the BigXII surround us. I think those objections will go away once the ACC really begins to unravel.
