The thing with the media is that they have been leaving themselves a big out the entire time. Almost to a fault they all say they'll believe it when they see it or see Gruden at the podium.
With that being said, just because it may have been "done" in terms of agreement doesn't mean that it was ever finalized on UT's side. As many have mentioned, if this goes down, it will be a mega deal unlike anything anyone has ever seen outside of maybe Saban and Alabama. There are many reasons yesterday's info could have been leaked, from buying time to Gruden being pissed to preparing the fans for it not working.
I have no inside sources in the AD, but I do know the university side somewhat well. After everything that has happened at our once great institution over the past decade, does anyone really believe UT knows what they are doing in a deal of this magnitude? I certainly don't, not even Hart. So it wouldn't surprise me in the least if a deal like this that was done by the big guys gets screwed up once it gets into the administration. UT has some pretty weak folks running things over there, though I'm not necessarily talking about Hart.
At the end of the day, I believe the OGs here for these reasons: If Haslam and others have truly worked on this deal as long as everyone is saying, I can't imagine them allowing it to fall through because of the idiocy of the university or the media. If it does fall through, even if it's Gruden's fault, my guess is Hart, Cheek, and others will be gone regardless of who they hire, even if UT were to win a championship. These big money guys don't put this much time, effort, and money into something only to see it fail at the last minute.
