First post...I still think its Gruden as well because if you think about it, most of Gruden's supposedly staff is from the NFL. They are still coaching and by giving them a few more weeks some of those staff members will be done coaching this year.

Now if this thing continues to drag out longer and longer, I see this being Gruden. Coaches finish and he will be done with MNF. I know this may bother some in regards to recruits but the name GRUDEN will bring those guys back to looking at UT.

I don't necessarily agree with that.

I think there are some very strong candidates out there. I think that many of them would be getting tons of love had us fans not been misdirected down the Gruden rabbit hole. The thing that baffles me is that Gruden is totally unproven in the NCAA and people are correlating a super bowl win with NCAA success. I think it makes it likely, in absence of other data to suggest otherwise, but a super bowl ring is not proof.

Put things in perspective, if Gruden had been an impossibility and never been mentioned, people here would probably be very happy with Strong, Fedora, Davis and would see it as a huge improvement over Dooley/Kiff era.

IF Gruden doesn't happen, I just hope we never utter his name again.

I want Gruden but the fact is, if Hart made an effort and Gruden wasn't interested then I don't want him. Nothing against Gruden but I don't want a guy here that doesn't wanna be. Remember Kiffin? That said, it still sucks.

Apparently most folks on this forum have never been involved in the business of getting deals done.....

It could be and sounds like the deal is dead. BUT, it may not be. This is a complicated thing, we have heard more S**t coming out the last month on this than is in Washington. Deals are tough, both sides, if they are really good will hold out to the last 5 seconds before agreeing to a deal.

Im not as sold on Gruden as most, I agree he is a football icon, but beyond that Im not sold out 100%.

It will not be over until another coach steps up to the podium.

2. Things started leaking out too quick for the timeline they had. Keep in mind we originally heard not till mid Dec. was this to be announced cause of various things...tampa check, MNF, and other deals possibly. So they had to make it seem like no deal is possible.

Am pissed like everyone, but we all need to take a step back and just see how it plays out. Too much doesn't make sense right now to just freak out.
