My question is:

What is Stephen Hargis thinking at the moment?

He basically put his career on the line only to have Lamonte come out and say any precedings with UT was a FANTASY.

If I were Hargis and had this much at stake, I would be preparing to fire back.

I come here to read every now and then and today is the first time I gave ever posted. I want Gruden and I think he is the only guy available who could turn TN around.

Yeah, I went to Vandy, but grew up in East TN, still live here have bled orange all of my life.

I wear and buy my kids Vols gear...not Vandy stuff. Yeah I still have a Vandy t-shirt and sweat shirt in the closet, but that's for weed-eating and mowing.

Yes, I pull for Vandy when they are not playing the Vols, but what would my sports life look like if I only had Vandy football to pull for? I would have committed suicide long ago.

I can appreciate the fact that Hart has been trying to keep this whole search on the low. He is going to have to give us something soon though or this place is going to implode. Give us something!

It could be and sounds like the deal is dead. BUT, it may not be. This is a complicated thing, we have heard more S**t coming out the last month on this than is in Washington. Deals are tough, both sides, if they are really good will hold out to the last 5 seconds before agreeing to a deal.

Im not as sold on Gruden as most, I agree he is a football icon, but beyond that Im not sold out 100%.

I will say this though: I try not to be a vindictive person. I fail at that often. It takes too much energy. However, until we announce a coach, this isn't over. No matter how bleak it may look now, we haven't introduced a new coach. I understand being disappointed at this time. I'm here to accept my role in that disappointment as I have assured I would. But, if the worm turns again like it has so many times in this whole cluster of a situation, I'm not sure the principle amount of venom won't be returned....quite possibly with some interest that has been earned.

It ain't over until UT introduces their next HFC. Then we'll know who was right and who wasn't.

Me too. Parties walk away from negotiations peeved all the time (and Lamonte is reported to be a hot head). Then, they cool down, return and a deal gets completed.

There are so many respectful ways to turn down an offer. Why didn't they choose to do it with respect and dignity? Why does the Gruden camp appear to be pissed off at us? Did a donor's check bounce or something?

A "good" football coach, i.e. Fedora, Golden, and Strong, isn't going to take down the big boys which for me is what this is about.. I want championships and there's no way with a straight face anyone can tell me those 3 could do that

i like how a lot of people flipped as soon as they read the agent quotes and now 2 hours later are putting things together and coming back around.

Seriously, it may not be over. We aren't even into December yet. The Saban deal went into January of the next year.
