I'm several 50 post pages behind, but if we're still looking for a name for Hubbs: Rafiki.

He acts all crazy, giving wrong information, then hits you with the truth. It was all to make you think harder, be better.

What was standing between "very close" and done?

If we were that close, is there hope that we can get back to that point, given Hart's stance and LaMonte's diva attitude?

No! To call him Rafiki would be to make reference to him being wise. This will not do.

If they don't name a coach by next weekend, then all bets are on. The next week will tell the story.

If UT and Gruden ever were in serious negotiations, UT might be bluffing a little bit here. For a deal to get done at this point, it is going to take some final concessions from the Gruden camp. The problem there is the pompous azz agent. And, it is an even bigger problem here because that agent has lots of experience negotiating NFL deals but I don't think he has any college experience. So, he doesn't know what is reasonable and what isn't.

If Gruden truly wants the job, he will tell his agent to turn the volume down a bit and get it done. If not, we will have a different coach.

IMO the only explanation that ties everything together is that JG is hired, but one or both parties really wants to keep it under wraps until a certain time possibly related to the MNF job. The media frenzy last week prompted corrective action, and look, it sure worked. The heat is off. Totally off.

I will believe that it is not gruden when I see a different coach introduced at the podium.

Having heard stuff like this from multiple people made me sick watching the AL/ GA game knowing the dumbass AD screwed it up.

Don't know exactly but I did get some more info tonight. Not much has been flowing. Yes, there were some tensions as we suspected. Dont know how deep it goes or precisely what the issue was. But when I got informed the deal was off Thursday night, apparently that wasn't too far removed from whatever occurred. Tells me some people left some kind of meeting and weren't real happy.

I just spoke with Charlie Strong, there was NO interview with Tennessee today folks, zero. He is entertaining OV's in Louisville..

I also spoke to Charlie three times yesterday folks...He says there was no interview yesterday or today.....Not sure what else to say.

You don't get "close" on something like this and just let it get away. But, maybe we were to the breaking point and Gruden needed to give a little bit, too, but was unwilling.
