So much odd information:

Strong: interviewed but didn't interview.
Fisher: to be offered; makes little sense from both sides.
Gundy: hart's just helping him get a raise.

I'm guessing Gruden is still in the mix.

If I recall correctly, OV said that Fisher won't leave unless he goes to Auburn.. Hopefully, he's right..

Supposedly Hart has not asked for permission to talk to Gundy.

To be honest, I don't really care for any of the names that are being thrown around. I'm not even saying I'm right. One of them could come in and totally prove me wrong; however, everyone of these guys seem to have either under achieved, or just coach junior high ball.

I'm 110% on the same page as Crenshaw.

Gundy is probably my favorite name because I feel like he's actually built something up. He built on Miles' 7-5 teams to very new heights. His best teams (current) are 100% his players too... which is something I always look at. Chizik is a great example of a coach who benefits from the roster of the previous staff but can't produce his own.

I want a head coach who other coaches would take downgrades to coach for because they know they will learn so much in the process. The only coach on the list that fits that other than Gruden, is maybe Stoops.

Gruden.

Cant help but like this! Posted in the cliff notes section.

Re: I'm holding out hope... (kind of long)
Soon I will be able to explain things to you guys...even my "announcement date" that was wrong and my tongue in cheek post....... just be patient grasshoppers and keep faith that babyvol has always provided good info. Your faith in me will soon be restored

Tick tock?

Oh - and I also like Gundy b/c of his 'I'm a man' speech. While it is still hilarious to watch - I think it was the best media speech in the last decade. He clearly went a little overboard, but I'd work my ass off for someone who would stand up for me/my teammates like that.

Mods please shut down this thread. Peeps are trying to create rumors again. We dont need this.

Why do you care so much? No one is forcing you to read or participate in this thread.

FTR: Never was a Grudenite and think it's all crazy talk. But let them have their thread. Just go away, dude.

Seems babyvol busy on TOS:

That's what it seems like doesn't it? I'm betting he's soon seen differently.

And someone commenting on it looks like Fisher:

Re: This coaching search is just too vague for the times we are
You are right....except it's not Jimbo!

TIFWIW, but I was told by a friend yesterday that 3 names were being thrown around: Strong, Gundy, and Jeff Fisher. That's right, Jeff Fisher. I started to post this last night, but I figured this friend was somewhat mistaken and had meant Jimbo Fisher. After reading this, maybe not.

This friend works for one of the major recruiting services. He does not have inside info at UT. He received the info from a colleague who has a better grasp of the UT program than he does. His receipt of the info was on Thursday.

I am just passing on the info, so don't shoot the messenger.

SURE IS GETTIN SMOKEY IN HERE... i can say one thing if gruden is not hired ,hart better start packin cause he will be chased out of town the way our fan's our.

(Personal opinion and not an insider)

Gruden is absolutely still in the mix.

http://www.volnation.com/forum/tenn...macgruders-jon-gruden-theory-help-others.html

It's a ridiculous assignment to read, length-wise, but I'll summarize - Gruden is still the only target we have. Everything else is a diversion.

Again, even though I made some smarky comments above, I still appreciate/respect what the "insiders" bring to the table. I'm just frustrated that they still feel the need to be so vague and indiscreet when even their very own sources have pretty much led them astray or fed them bad information. I don't blame them - if I had someone nearly as close to the situation as they do (which I'm sure they do, based on what several have said/predicted) I wouldn't want to give that up, but to still defend it, after everything went sour....as a forum poster, without knowing anyone here, without having any true way of verifying their inside info, I just "HAVE" to call BS unless they put out concrete details.

I could lie and say my theories were backed by an inside source, and as new as I am - people would buy it. I'm articulate enough, and I've made a few enough well-liked posts that a few folks would buy into it. But I'm not doing that. I'm claiming, full force, neutrality on this. Just using my head with what has happened thus far.

Everyone should do the same. Gruden is coming, folks. Promise you :D

Aannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddd....we're live! Let's start talking Gruden to Tennessee. Maybe he'll bring in a staff with a decidedly Tennessee flavor. Who knows?

I'll take Jeff.

You sure do hang around a lot for someone that doesn't "need" this. Why are you still here again?

Because I still wish it will happen, but seeing now that the OG's have all but left town it's almost laughable to see other people try to come and take there place and start the rumors again. Flame away if you must. Burn it down!
