I just saw a crazy idea in another thread...Said it came from here:

Hire Fulmer as interim coach. Gruden will wait til next year (when ESPN contract expires?). Then, will be our HC.

I called it crazy, but it would be brilliant. The PR would be great - for a whole year, we would be constantly in the news.

Hey, this can't be any crazier than some other ideas thrown around on here.

(Please note: I love Fulmer, but have never considered him a serious contender to be back since he was fired.)

Gruden would rather have Majors...IMO.

Do we really know this happened Thursday or that it happened weeks ago. Sometimes things appear different than what it looks like. This is just a thought.

So he can recruit at Oklahoma State even though he's #2 in the state for a state that produces very little BCS talent, but can't at UT?

I'm curious as to why you would say he can recruit at Oklahoma State??

His last three recruiting classes were ranked 31, 29, and 36. This year is 24th. (247sports rankings). If you can't recruit better than that with Texas in your backyard, how are you going to recruit at Tennessee?? He had a couple great seasons with an elite QB, who he didn't really even have to compete with the big boy schools for because he was a late 20s ex baseball player. He is about as proven a coach as Gene Chizik. Except Chizik never had a slip up game when he had an elite QB fall into his lap.
